I am optimistic and looking forward to seeing how this all plays out. You negative guys should learn to be optimistic once in a while. It will put a smile on your face, some hop in your step and people will like you better. BTW, where’s jgood? www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vBnJyOUWdMIs that a young Costanza belting out that song? He played the opposite role on Seinfeld. I was thinking more of Monty Python's "Always look on the bright side of Life", but this will work too javascript:add(%22%20:D%22)

"Marist can't suck forever". Line of the year petagay:). These guys got talent, but as I say way too much, but its THE DAMN TRUTH. Their confidence will be sapped if they are forced to play inside because their are no other options. Your argument does not hold in the case of Dorvell Carter. He played the most backup post to KB two seasons ago and was not "sapped" in any noticeable way last year. Maybe Voyoukas was sapped, but I think he was just not that good. Although he did play in the tourney this year.

I don't think that anybody on the board doesn't understand that there is a difference between high school and college. I do think Morton and Lewis will turn out to be better than anything they've had in a while. I think they'll be pretty good this year if they get another big guy that can contribute, if only with defense and rebounding. My expectations are that they will be fun to watch and we should see the beginning of a bright future. I see Curry as a hard-nosed guy who does what it takes to win. That's something new. He's got a nice shot too. Their perimeter shooting has been horrible.

In life I always look at the bright side of things. Have been an optimist my entire life and do not expect to change. I'm also been very patient throughout my 58 years and the result has been a very good life. When it comes to Marist hoops I am still optimistic with a dose of reality on the side. I may sound sour but that comes from years of losing.
I want this team to be the best team in the MAAC. I am willing to be patient, but I said that when Martin was hired and again last year when things were not going well.
I like the direction this team is heading, bringing in good students and kids who do the little thing, kids who have a much more complete game than some of the past recruits. I just have a hard time jumping on the bandwagon that next year everything will be completely turned around. This whole process is like turning around a ship that's headed in the wrong direction. You can't turn a ship on a dime and neither will this team turn itself from a losing program into a winning program just with 4 or 5 or 6 quality recruits.

Ken i am older then you and as far as Marist basketball i am a pessamist. As nomar pointed out we had good fresh 2 years ago Martins words were we will be good when they are Jrs. Well there gone. 2min clips from high school doesn't make these guys college stars there first year. We may be a 500 team next year. With no bigs we don't win 10.

Agreed. The first 3 (or 2 years)of the Martin regime have been the worst of the 27 years I've been following Marist. I want thing to be better but I am practicing what I preach. I'm getting real. And the reality is that marist is the worst men's basketball team in the MAAC right now. About the youtube clips - everyone please keep in mind these are the highlights of that athletes career. But of course no one is going to show their f...ups. If we do not get another big who can contribute we won't win ten games overall. Yes this is from an optimist. I'm hopeful but maybe that's because of all the years of hearing about faith, hope & charity! LOL

I do think Marist has 2 bonafide future leaders in Bowie and Curry. Bowie does all the little things already and you could see the mistakes he made really upset him. He is a big time competitor. Curry from all his reports sounds like the same type of player, I don't think his upside is as high as Bowie though.

We'll see. This will be the make or break season for CM. Hopefully, our optimism is just. If they don't show promise, it would be time for a change.
The videos show their ability. They all have that. It shows they are very good off of the dribble. They really haven't had that. Even SP was a 50/50 prop with the ball in his hands. I think they'll be ok if they get one more inside guy. I like Kemp, Carter, Bowie, Alexis, and Price. If Morton and Lewis are as good as most of us think they are, they'll be fine. Thomas and Curry for depth. A good season next year hinges on having some inside help. With the question marks surrounding most teams, I don't think being competitive is a stretch. Not a guarantee. Just my prediction.

Let me ask a quick question, then ill leave this topic along ... Would you rather have young and really talented player(s) or experienced and limited/ mediocre talent??

PG77 the only thing that counts is wins and until some people see them than its all ways going to be a half full glass on this board. That why all I say is lets wait and see.

The roster seems to be set?! Having said that ... what is your starting 5? Im not exactly sure who should/ will start in certain spots. The only giving in my mind is Kemp @ center and maybe Bowie @ SF!
PG: Morton? (not sure if he should start right away as a freshmen) SG: ? SF: Bowie PF:? Center: Kemp
