I was doing some research and saw some PF types from the area that are still available. This guy stood out to me because he is still decommitted and he is ranked right around where Gomis, the Siena recruit is, so he shouldn't be untouchable. Plus his profile talks about having D1 interest, not that he is being targeted by the big schools. NYC guy, hmmmmm. Someone get Chuck on this guy. He is 6'7 230. Name is Marquis Barnett. hsnewyork.scout.com/a.z?s=403&p=8&c=1&nid=5458729

Oh crap, just clicked a story on the side of the profile. Says Marist has been interested:). I honestly didn't see that when I posted this.

And looking at the teams the coach mentioned, we should win out over St. Francis PA. We do need to make sure the Quinnipiac arena is shut down if he visists that campus though:).

Another guy slightly lower ranked, but still available is Marcus Hopper. He also has interest from Marist according to this story. 6'9 238. hsnewyork.scout.com/2/1048276.html

Had not heard about Barnett...Hopper was mentioned by peta on one of the other threads and seems solid...Fall would be my top target however.

I guess Morton has ties to Hopper and Fall. Get them both!!!!
Amdy Fall '11 of Wings Academy (NY), Isaiah Morton '11 of St. Augustine's (NJ), and Marcus Hopper '11 of Holy Cross (NY) were the main men for Raising Champions. Fall, a 6'8 power forward, displayed a nice blend of strength and athleticism in the low post. He scored the ball on the blocks and also hit the glass. Morton faced the tough task of matching up with Tyler Lewis '12, but the 5'8 point guard more than held his own. He played tough defense and was also effective in orchestrating Raising Champions' offensive attack for much of the game. Hopper, a 6'9 power forward, teamed with Fall in the paint, and he too made some nice plays. While most of his work was done down low, he hit a three right before the buzzer at the end of the first half to tie the game.

Both of these kids I believe would love to come to marist they would be perfect hopper can play in the post but also can shoot the 3 ball fall is only 17yrs old who has a tremendous upside and blocks shots at an amazing rate he is a little thin now but young. You pair those kids along with the kids that are already there and you are looking at an exciting team get those 2 and the fans will be back. Devin Price must be commended for sticking it out I believe he will have a good season next year with having more of a free lance role. Lets get this done this week!

Here is what recruitcon says in the Amby Fall update:
"As the spring signing period approaches, coaches are looking for quality late additions and big men are always at a premium.
With this in mind it should come as no surprise that forwards Casey Carroll and Amdy Fall are high priorities for a number of coaching staffs.
Casey is a 6-8 combo forward out of the Kiski School in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, and Amdy Fall is a 6-7 power forward from Wings Academy in the Bronx, New York.
We caught up with both Amdy and Casey to find out more about the state of their recruitment.
As of right now Amdy has interest from Virginia Commonwealth, Drexel, Marist, St. Peter's, UMES and Texas Southern.
A number of these schools have already offered him as well. Amdy holds scholarship offers from Marist, St. Peter's, UMES and Texas Southern."
So if you know him, whisper in his ear that Marist is best for him!!!

Thanks Ken .. dont kno this guy at all but really hope he choose Marist. Read that he has a 7'1 swing span. We need the length and ability for defense/ rebs.
