Next year is crucial. Can't afford to be a laughing stock. It's gotta be a winning season. No more blowouts in conference play. I do believe that they should be expected to win if their recruits are anything like we think they are. They need to get a winning atmosphere back.

Yes, I see the comparison. 12 "angry meanie" posters compared to 90,000 fans in a big stadium. I am sure Tate read the Miami message boards and said, "Oh sh.t, I am going there, that poster Miamiman7 said I was cool, and the other guy Hurricane4life said I looked like a up and coming star".

How do we "get a winning atmosphere" with the same players we have now? They know only losing. I am asking a sincere question, I am not being glib. With the core (that we all think is solid) we now have; how do they develop, how are they taught/shown a winning attitude?

don't underestimate the power of the yankee pen. In addition to that pen, I have heat ray vision, scary stuff. But in all honesty I have only heard one point recently why Marist might keep Martin. Petagay brought up a point I didn't consider. Marist is making money on these games against Villanova and Kentucky. That could factor into a decision as that makes multiple tens of thousands typically for the college. However, someone convince why he has earned another year on the basketball side. Where is the improvement? Where is the growth?

What and Skinner could not get games with the BE or ACC? Or Pearl with the SEC?

Marist wouldn't touch someone like Pearl or Sampson. But they could get involved with Skinner.

We all kno Marist is not in that category @ this time .... then negative environment on top of that ... who the hell will wanna some here .. not a damn soul.

Not trying to start anything but just spoke w/ Rob Johnson on FB for a few mins (his fb account has been de-activated since he transfered, until recently). said he didnt want to deal with anyone ...
I asked him why he transfered, he stated that he was unhappy with the lack of/no playing time .. and was frustrated with the fact that Chuck never told him why he wasnt getting time ... he also stated that the fan base was too negative and didnt show any support (seriously, he said it effect the team) they would read the pojo and this site and were hurt by comments they read .. he said they (as a team/ coaches) were sure (very confident) they would have a good season but it never came together ...

Jesus, no wonder this group has lost so much. He sounds like a first grader who got a C on his spelling test and is mad at his friends for teasing him about it. Please tell me no more players like him are left on this team.

Plus tell him, he had no handle and had no other shot other than the 12 footer. That is the personification of a losing mindset. WAAH, they said mean things about me. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

he also stated that the fan base was too negative and didnt show any support (seriously, he said it effect the team) they would read the pojo and this site and were hurt by comments they read .. .. Obviously he was not prepared to play at the D-I level. It's not gonna be all praise when you don't perform at this level. Also the "fan support" comment is insulting. Marist was only outdrawn by Siena, Fairfield and Iona this year despite arguably being the worst team in D-I for three straight years. Winning Marist teams are only outdrawn by Siena and Marist fans are the most loyal in the league. The team is stronger for shedding itself of this type of mentality.

yeah hes a nice/ cool guy but yeah he def seems a little on the sensitive side ... the funny thing is he would of started/ got plenty of playing time down the stretch (somebody got hurt and we needed a forward, after he transfered) ...

This is Rob Johnson and I am posting this to cgive everyone an update on my where abouts and clear up the comments tha Petagay77 made. I transferred to Norfolk State University at the semester because it was a better opportunity for me to play in December 2011 instead of having to sit a whole year out if I waited to transfer at the end of the season. I have not spoke with anyone on Facebook recently? So i do not know where petagay77 got that notion from? The fan support at Marist is great I never had a problem with the school itself. I transferred out strictly because I felt that it was the best decision for my basketball career. I have a lot of close friends on the team that I keep in contact with and I definitely wish them the very best. Of course I was frustrated why I wasnt told why I was not playing anymore but instead of being a cancer and a distraction i decided it was best for me to go in another direction. I wish my friends well on the team and to all the people that I have come into dirext contact with who showed me tremendous support. This will be my only post here so I hope that cleared things up. God Bless
