Why aren't you posting more stuff in the positive development thread. It comes acroiss more as you want the naysayers to stop rather than actually thinking there is progress Exactly. This board is tame compared to many others in the MAAC. BTW- many of those teams have cleaned Marist's clock despite the varied opinions expressed on their message boards. It hasn't stopped them from getting better players, it won't stop Marist. It's been said many times this year, us skeptics want to eat crow because we want Marist to win. Show us.

I posted here insted of the "positive" thread - honestly i feel for the players. I feel many of their careers will be over and they will not have enjoyed a winning season at this rate. I feel that many of them are not being taught properly to live up to their potential, i feel they are playing in the wrong system.

I'm not politicking for the coach. I am politicking to give the coach and program a chance to see where it can go. My mantra has been to give this program more of a chance than most of you are willing to give it. It is counter-productive to change coaches every 3 years and there are some pieces here and some to come next year, so let's see what happens before we make final judgement on the coach and his program or we will be in store for more of the same pain we have endured the last 3 seasons. I'm sorry if this post disappoints you and for the "poor quality" of my recent posts. I hope you give me a chance to improve on my posting. When I said the record is irrelevant this year, I meant it is not the most important thing to focus on the rest of this year IMO. Will it really matter if they finish 3-15 or 6-12 in the conference this year? I do not think so. It is more important to develop the players for next year and the year after. Again, just my opinion. I hope it meets your lofty standards.

yankee, you are right that 4 or 5 posters should not sway recruits, but if negativity is all they see or hear about the team, they would probably think the entire team environment is negative (and we all know that is not the truth, but they do not). However, first impressions often last a lifetime, so if they believe negativity hovers around the team, they would probably be more inclined to get their education in a more positive, similar environment. I do not think most recruits think/know that the academics they may receive from Marist would be any better than any other mid-major college they would be looking at. All things being equal, most recruits would choose the more positive environment. One of the reasons I started posting was so that everyone can see that not everybody believes that Marist men's basketball is the Temple of Doom. agreed 100%

I just posted something on the positive thread and Nomar already put his negative spin on it there (is that allowed? ) I have stayed away from flooding the positive thread with things because I did not want to repeat all of the positive things I have been posting on here for the last month or so. I posted my above comment here because you kept posting on here that 4 or 5 commenters should not have any effect on a recruits decision and I do not agree with that. If this negativity leaves a bad impression on a recruit, all other things being equal, the recruit will be inclined to go elsewhere. SMDH

Thats why I am surprised you haven't posted much in the positive thread. Instead, this thread is the "lets make the Martin detractors think they are gonna make Morton not come, and lets keep saying it in hopes they will be quiet" thread.

yankee, one last thing on this recruits thing - I was not saying Morton will not come here after reading this board. I think the only way he may not come would be if CM was fired this year. I was speaking of those future recruits who have not yet committed to Marist, who may be more inclined to go elsewhere if they sensed an overabundance of negativity in the program.

Guys: dewd & petagay are here to save us from ourselves. Kind of like two incoming freshmen are going to save Martin. I hope they are correct on both accounts!

Petagay, we all know that recruits research the schools/teams they are looking at and would always choose a program with a positive atmosphere, but some of us do not want to acknowledge it because it doesn't fit the agenda.

Kids should love to play for Marist. I'm very patient. I just would like to hear what the AD and coach think about the situation.
