I think they'll win tomorrow. Manhattan blowing that game last night will take the wind out of their sails. Hopefully Prescott plays.

Thanks Pearl. Great to hear another point of view on here pleading for the negativity to stop. I too was compelled to post on here after reading all of the negativity. I learned about this board from one of the Marist students after one of the games earlier this year, so you know the kids do read these boards and you are right. Nobody will want to come here if they think the coach is on his way out.

Yes, someone deciding where they want to spend the next 4 years of their life, get over 100,000 in tuition and get a degree that will help them start a career for the rest of their lives should be swayed by the posts of fans on a basketball forum. Yep.

Yep. Certainly couldn't have anything to do with 15 wins in 2.5 years. No, no. That is just ancillary stuff to a young man making up his mind about the future of the rest of his life. Most care about what anonymous couch potatoes type on a board:). I KNEW a while back this would be the tactic, "we can't let him go", "if we let him go, HE won't come". If HE wants to come, he will come either way. Now saying that, PLEASE COACH Martin, make us look like fools. Turn this around. If you can turn this around, you have a chance to do something no mens basketball coach has done since the early-mid 80's. GET US TO THE NCAA Tourney. But it would nice if we could get to 500 first soon.

I knew Marist was not a soccer power when I chose it over Providence and UNH but on my visit a guy named Alan Forester among others introduced me to Sidetracks and my choice was made.... id like to say it was for Marist academics but back then not so much. It is as much as how you feel you fit with the current players as much as coach

For me it was the .25 draft beers at Franks right across Route 9 from Campus. How is that for ancient history, let alone motivation. It was a different time and place.

If I could ever find a .25 draft beer night anywhere now, my BAC would probably register .0425 by the end of the night:). That would be dangerous.

Did Skinners replace Franks?

Did Skinners replace Franks? Technically, yes. But the truth is nothing could replace Franks.

yankee, you are right that 4 or 5 posters should not sway recruits, but if negativity is all they see or hear about the team, they would probably think the entire team environment is negative (and we all know that is not the truth, but they do not). However, first impressions often last a lifetime, so if they believe negativity hovers around the team, they would probably be more inclined to get their education in a more positive, similar environment. I do not think most recruits think/know that the academics they may receive from Marist would be any better than any other mid-major college they would be looking at. All things being equal, most recruits would choose the more positive environment. One of the reasons I started posting was so that everyone can see that not everybody believes that Marist men's basketball is the Temple of Doom.

These players are gonna base their pulse on the team on what we say instead of official visits, etc? Real stretch dewd. Why aren't you posting more stuff in the positive development thread. It comes acroiss more as you want the naysayers to stop rather than actually thinking there is progress

I just posted something on the positive thread and Nomar already put his negative spin on it there (is that allowed? ) I have stayed away from flooding the positive thread with things because I did not want to repeat all of the positive things I have been posting on here for the last month or so. I posted my above comment here because you kept posting on here that 4 or 5 commenters should not have any effect on a recruits decision and I do not agree with that. If this negativity leaves a bad impression on a recruit, all other things being equal, the recruit will be inclined to go elsewhere.

Dewd, again, my impression from many of your posts is that you are politicking for the current coach. You do a good job of it, and have some long, extensive fact filled posts. But when you say things like the record doesn't count, or some internet poster is going to sway a future recruits decision, thats kinda what I say to my son. Thats silly. As I said before, if any kid bases any of his decision on what we have to say here, good riddance. That player would be a flat out poor decision maker.
