@redfox5 my bad for that statement. we're cool. I agree with what you said in regards to this not being the right situation for Price, I just felt like it wasn't appropriate being that the kid has gone through a lot this year and his game is suffering... Maybe his mental toughness is not where it should be. Whatever the case I know that the players read these boards form time to time and for him to see posters saying they cant wait until he transfers may screw him confidence up even more. You know how it goes.. There has not been much consistency at all with the players. But that is no surprise because there has not been ANY It's all good...and if Devin and the team do read this I think it's pretty clear we think this kid has good talent. He's probably in agreement that a change of scenary would be best if his relationship with CM is what we think it is. Regarding your post on Alexis...I don't get that either. That guy played real well as a 6th man earlier and all of a sudden his minutes go from like 20 to 12 to 5 to nothing.

Never officially posted it here but the final was 79-41...this is the worst of CM's many horrific losses over his 15-67 tenure at Marist IMO.
And despite sometimes calling out the players for under performing occasionally, I really do feel bad for them. It's obvious that whether some of them have big time MAAC potential or not CM is not putting them in the best position to succeed. That's the understatement of the year.
I think Sam Prescott is a talented winning player, but you wouldn't know it looking at this team. Jay Bowie, Adam Kemp, Candon Rusin I think are in that category as well as are probably some others. But CM is turning them into losing players...players who will become Sophs and Juniors not knowing how to win. Not expecting to win 3, 4, 8 in row...you get the feeling that the players, coaches, maybe administration and some fans now considers 1 win every 5 games with a couple close losses as an acceptable outcome.

Posted by nomar33 on Today at 4:19pm You have to agree that this has been a disorganized year to say the least. - who fault is that? It is CMs fault for this disorganization. He doesnt seem to trust his team or himself at times. I have never lobbied for CM being a good coach. I was not sold on him as a hire from the start. The MAAC boards made a lot of noise about Marist hiring him because he was on the head assistant on the Memphis Final4 team, but I am not sold on Calipari as a coach either! He gets the best talent year in and year out, but still no championships. 5 first round picks last year, Tyreke Evans and Derrick Rose the previous 2 years before that and not to mention the Talent he wa$ Bringing in at UMA$$. The point is that CM has never been proven as a head coach and Marist took a chance with him without looking at his credentials. For the MAAC conference a more structured coach will win. Especially at Marits

After a little research my suspicions were confirmed...this was the worst MAAC loss ever for Marist. The previous worst was a 36 point loss to Niagara during the 2003-2004 season. This marks just the third loss by 30 or more for Marist in MAAC play ever over 13.5 seasons.
The 41 points were the second worst output for Marist in MAAC play. Last year's sqaud scored 39 vs. St Peter's.
Way to go Chuck...CM is on pace to break alot of Marist records.

I went down to the game. I cannnot imagine a poorer performance. It looked like a varisty team playing an elementary school team. We looked intimidated, played soft, and gave up in the locker room before the opening tip. This is all on Martin.

Was there a bus or did you waste gas as well?

Why Doesn't Alexis play??? I believe because he is one of their top players. Thats why Chuck probably doesn't play him.

it is me or are all the pro Martin guys awful quiet - maybe they are watching the replay looking for one of those "good stretches" - i think they had one between the 15:34 and the 15:30 mark

Rusin may have found his stroke again, Watson got somewhat back on track, we held their two best players to season lows... see lots of good things...

I'm pro Marist Nomar. I'm as pissed as you are. I like CM and want him to succeed. There is no excuse for losing to a MAAC team like that. That's what AD's get paid for. If there are any more games like this, he's got a decision to make. I just don't like being an idiot like the Siena idiots on the MAAC board. They all say they're unbeatable one minute, it's the coach's fault the next minute. Yet when we all said they'd take a step back, they said we were nuts. I'm assuming Chuck knows basketball. I have no answers for the pathetic performances. Murray thought CM was ready. Why the hell isn't Murray ever asked questions? As I've said before, the only sport the average person cares about is men's hoops. Start emphasizing it if they really want to win. Siena sucks in most sports yet they've had bragging rights. I want Murray to say something.

There’s not much positive to say about today’s game, other than it only counts as one loss no matter the score and it was one not penciled in as a win on anybody’s prognostication sheets anyway. I assume the game plan was to stop Glover and make the rest of the team step up and they did – Armand was 6 of 8 from 3 and there was balanced scoring throughout. Marist had the same issues that plague them in their bad games – turnovers and a couple of scoring droughts. I’m not surprised these issues were more pronounced on the road at a top team’s place.
That being said, my opinion on the coach and the team has not changed. I think we need to see where this goes the rest of this year and next before a true judgment can be made. I see enough promise in these players and hear a lot of good things about the incoming class to believe they will be very competitive over the next few years. Prematurely scrapping the whole system could put the team back to square one. I see similar signs of life (and inconsistency) I saw in the Jordan/Whittington sophomore year (where they finished 1-10 in conference play after McClurkin was suspended). Some of the pieces are there and being assembled and more are on the way. It’s tough to be patient after setbacks like today, but I still say that is the best course of action at this point.

Patience? Seriously? You can't preach patience to Marist fans. Many posters here have been following this team for 10-20 or more years. Trust me, patience is something most of us have had to have. The way this team performs inconsistently is disgusting. The coach did not have this team prepared. The coach is ruining Bauers senior year. The coach doesn't know who to play STILL. Now he is not playing Anell Alexis? Seriously? Get him out of here as soon as possible.

I think the coach is looking to the future and that is why Goodwin and Bauer are not playing. Every minute they are given is taking away minutes from the freshmen and sophs. I feel bad for both of those guys, especially for Bauer, after the year he endured last year as the only true big man on the team and the physical toll it took. I am not sure about Alexis and would like to see what he would do with 25 minutes in a game as he does seem to have some skills. I know and understand the history of patience shown by the Marist fanbase (although it has not shown up on this board much in the year I have been reading it), but I also know that teams generally run in cycles of 3 to 5 years. Whether you want to count CM's first year or not, he still has some time for this cycle to run its course.
