Players are tested 3 times a week, including before and after games. Infecting the other team in lax, baseball or other outdoor sports when both teams are testing is near zero. Much more risk in a dorm or classroom.

"Two players, Jake Weinman and John Zukowski, entered the NCAA Transfer Portal in late March. There could be a run on entries into the portal; the players are loyal to coach Keegan Wilkinson, but their Marist loyalty can only go so far. Particularly, with some big-name players like Jamison Embury, IL’s MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, publicly displaying their displeasure — there’s a lot of talent other programs would love to raid from the Marist program."
If Lax gets gutted then Athletic leadership needs to go.

Looks like all continues to be off until at least Friday, although last I saw, there was still tennis listed for tomorrow night at Siena.

Yankee unfortunately it does not matter that this might be all Dean Murray’s doing - IF the athletic department take a massive hit - transfers, difficulty in recruiting etc... then TM will have to go. You can talk to recruits until you are blue in the face that it wasn’t the AD but the outside perception is not going to change until there is a change

I would think that, at least.

Yankee you can scream that until you are blue in the face, even if you are correct - the perception outside of Marist is so bad, other college coaches are going to point at the decision made to persuade kids not to pick Marist, they are going to point to the fact that it is the same AD who preceded over this fiasco is still there and that nothing has changed.
That is what I would do recruiting against Marist - show SM, show all the student-athletes complaining, show all the transfers based on how they were treated.... our coaches will have no response unless they can tout that that was under different leadership (not just a new president)

But, the simply fact is they will not fire a guy to cover their asses for a decision they made. That is simply not in Marist DNA as how they run things.

Yankee if that is the case you WILL see less talent coming in and more coaches leaving. It will be all about perception. This is already getting beyond the Hudson Valley - publications, new outlets, more and more are taking Marist to the woodshed

the more people yell at them, the more we all look like virus-denying loons, all the more Marist admins become convinced they're doing the right thing and will continue to be (ahem) cautious.
"We must be taking the best course of action...after all, look who's against us."

This is already getting beyond the Hudson Valley - publications, new outlets, more and more are taking Marist to the woodshed OK, but you are saying they have to get rid of the AD because of this? Basically he would be the sacrificial lamb for their poor decisions? That would be disgusting on many levels. They best just fix it and let the kids play like most other colleges have figured out. They allowed their basketball teams to play, they need to figure it out.

And 13 years of embarrassing MBB basketball wasn’t?
So many years of mediocre football and annual beatings at the hands of upper tier PFL programs and mediocre PL programs and lately ivy foes isn’t?
Just trying to add perspective to those of us acting like this is anything new.

Wait a second. They have all tested negative and most have had the vaccine, and they still are not letting them play. Disgusting.
