Alert level down from orange to yellow this morning. Rolling 7 day positivity rate 1.74 percent.
Let's see how they spin that into cancelling a few more weeks of athletics, but I'm sure they will find a way to do so.

Take activities away from kids, they often find negative activities to fill their time. Apparently college kids fall under this too.

Sports are sort of back as of today, kinda. Vague message at Marist.edu dashboard.
Some teams allowed and some not based on risk and whether they need games to qualify for the MAAC tournament. Maybe that's why men's lacrosse was still 86'd for tomorrow. They make the tournament even if they never play a league game. Plus it's a flight to Detroit, and they played them already (the 1 in 1-0).

How can we antagonize the lacrosse teams even more and get them to hate the school just a little bit more, oh wait I know, say that every other sport can play but not them.
It would be almost comical if it wasn't so damaging to the future of the programs and the school's reputation.

Season ticket holder for 2 seats for both men’s and women’s basketball plus always supported softball especially when Claire was playing . Now Marist tells me I can’t sit outside at Gartland field to watch softball this weekend with a mask and 2 COVID vaccines.

This I don't and won't blame them for. Limit the vectors, essential personnel only. Fans are the last thing I would be concerned with at themoment.

I know they are taking kids from baseball in youth sports.

The entire Marist administration making these decisions have failed their student athletes to such a huge proportion they should be embarrassed and disgraced by their actions.

On a better note, the return began last night with both tennis teams beating Niagara in their season opener and today is opening day for baseball and softball.
Softball opens with 4 at home against Monmouth, tough ask when wins and not winning percentage determine the standings. Baseball ought to have an easier path with 4 at lowly Saint Peter's.
