Bracketbuster...when these teams were paired UNH and Marist were both ranked between 270-290 in the RPI but since than Marist has lost 11 straight while UNH has gotten hot winning 3 of 4 games and pulling to just under .500. New Hampshire has done this despite losing two of their best three players to season ending injury.
Still if Marist has the kind of talent needed to move to the middle of the MAAC next year than they should have enough right now to win a game against a mid pack AE team at home missing two top players.
UNH shoots just 38% from the field and 29% from 3. Best player is SR Tyone Conley who avg's 15.3 ppg.
UNH biggest advantage is on the glass. They are a good rebounding team...they have two players who avg 8.4 and 8.1 rpg respectively. The big center Diliegro who avg's 8.8 ppg with the 8.4 rpg scored a career high 27 vs. Marist last year.
Go Marist!

Time for Marist to pick up the slack...we all agreed that NIA and MAN were in our league earlier this year. They both won today...MAN with 2 wins in the last 3, NIA with 4 wins in the last 5. Marist with 11 straight losses. MUST show us something at the end of the season here!!!!!! Tonight is an excellent chance to start!

Maybe the MAAC isn't on a down year after all. They are 5-1 today so far with the only loss being Canisius by 8 at BU, who is 10-4 in AE. Let's hope for some good PG play today.

The matchups are easier because the MAAC teams got crappier teams to play this year BECAUSE it is a down year.

Nice win...UNH is not great but had been playing well of late. Marist generated alot of good looks in this game but stuggled finishing or this could've been a 20 point blowout.
Carter was on fire early...got hurt..returned and cooled off a bit but still another real nice game with 18. Price made his FT's a the end of the game...did not let the MAN game get in his head. 15 pts for him....still does not drive the ball enough.
Nice D on Diliegro who torched us for 27 last year and went for 21 in his last game. Bauer played him very well.
Good job guys...now beat Rider!

Korey Bauer with 6 pts 11 rebounds...now averaging 5.3 ppg and 9.0 rpg since coming back to the lineup...good thing we got all those Prinsloo minutes earlier in the year...
Carter also averaging 16.8 ppg over his last 5 games. 12.5 ppg as a starter over 13 games.

Marist out rebounded UNH by 8...three straight games out rebounding the opponent without Kemp. Something positive.

Ahhh. . The Thrill of Victory ! Carter and Bauer led the show with much better defense by the team. Price scored and played well, but I would like to see Price share the ball more. Rusin started to defrost and Prescott made a good contribution. Bowie plays 90 miles an hour ala Jimi Hendrix. "Good" effort, much needed win! Thank you boys!
What do you say I suit up for seniors day?. . . only kidding . . . LOL

Perhaps the bracket buster scheduling committee, like yankee, underestimated the conference because there is no perceived dominant team like Siena was the last few years. 9-1 record today, with average margin of victory almost 10 points tells me that maybe this conference is well balanced and still pretty good.

I have to give props to Candon Rusin, who while in there in the man-to-man was guarding Conley, their leading scorer and held him in check most of the way. Conley got his 15 points, but was 6 for 17 shooting and got most of his points points while Rusin was not in there. I noticed Rusin guarding him early in the game and thought it must have been a "switch" he got caught in, but he continued to guard him and I kept track the rest of the game and Rusin shut him down while I was watching. I'd like to see a tape of the game to see how many of those 15 points were scored against Rusin.

That's good to see. Candon can really help this team if he plays within himself and with confidence. If he plays that kind of D, thats an added bonus.. Good win. We'll take it. Beat Rider!!!

I think the MAAC is pretty solid this year. If Siena is the 7th best team, it's not a horrible league. From top to bottom, Iona ia a pretty talented team. Fairfield and St. Peter's have been pretty solid. I think Bridgeport should be pretty interesting. Even Loyola and Canisius can step up and bite someone. Niagara's starting to come along.
