Its a very down year. The matchups are easier because the MAAC teams got crappier teams to play this year BECAUSE it is a down year. Perhaps the bracket buster scheduling committee, like yankee, underestimated the conference because there is no perceived dominant team like Siena was the last few years. 9-1 record today, with average margin of victory almost 10 points tells me that maybe this conference is well balanced and still pretty good. Oh stop it! You are trying to do a degree of seperation thing to make Martins record seem not as bad as it is a "tough league". Stop it! The league for the most part is very bad this year. Their is no dominant team, a few good teams, a couple mediocre ones, and some horrific ones. BUT, as I did say, in regards to Marist, this is now a good 3 game stretch. I liked what I saw the prior 2 games and this win will give them another needed jolt of positive energy. Rider will be a tough game with their athleticism.

I don't know where you got that idea from yankee, dewd was just pointing out a fact that maybe the MAAC isn't as bad this year as everyone (including whoever selects the bracketbuster) thinks it is. There is definetely the most parity we have seen in the league in awhile and any league that had a team theat had a chance to make the NCAA Tournament as an at-large bid and then suddenly lose them because the coach and the greatest class in (perhaps) conference history leaves is going to look a like a less good league, but this league is probably the deepest we've ever seen. A team that is fighting to stay out of the PIG in Siena could've beaten Minnesota earlier this year. The league is better than we think it is, did any other league go 9-1 or better yesterday? I haven't checked it, but I seriously doubt it.
Very good game yesterday for the Foxes. Herrion is a great coach a New Hampshire as they where starting to come together after the losses of Abreu and Myrick (I think that's his name) and the Marist defense contained them well, especially in the first half. What I really liked yesterday was that every time New Hampshire looked as if they were going to go on a big run and get truly back in the game, Price hit a big shot. Hopefully that shows the he regained his confidence and carries that over into the first weekend in March.

Maybe what I'm trying to say is that this year isn't as much down as the last couple of years were really up

Good game. Came out of the locker room ready to play. Defense was the key to this game. Korey played well, got some key rebounds. Bowie had a special energy going. On one possession I counted 3 offensive rebounds by Jay within a few seconds. Carter has been special the past few games. Last night his treys in the first ten minutes of the game were the most important shot of the game. He misses those and it's an entirely different ball game. Lats on here say there has been a difference since Korey has been in the lineup. I submit that the difference is Dorvell. Since he's been starting they've been playing better. And his stats are excellent since he started playing. Get used to seeing a lot of him. Prescott was OK but it seems teams are starting to pay special attention to him; he'd best get used to it. Rusin even hit a shot, Watson showed a couple back to the basket moves. However Alexis looked lost for some reason. Had to be told where to be during an offensive set. Price, was just OK. He is not the PG I thought he'd be. If Morton is as good as everyone says (ie. an immediate starter) then Price can play a little off guard and backup at PG next year. they showed something in holding onto a 10+ point lead through the latter part of the game. Price made the important free throws.
This is what they've been working toward. A team effort for 40 minutes culminating in a win. Believe it or not there is hope.
Rider will be tough - agreed; but not totally unbeatable. the better chance for a win this coming weekend is against the dreaded Saints Sunday night.

It does look like the scouting report is catching up to Prescott, but I think that is opening up the game for the rest of the team and puts less pressure on him. That 34 point game did a little more than just keep up in the Iona game, it is forcing defenses to pay special attention to where Prescott is at all times, allowing the pressure to be taken off of Carter, Price, Rusin, etc.

The team on the floor now may be only 3/5ths of the starting team next year.
BTW there was a big 6-5 to 6-6 young man seated behind the team bench all night long. Was talking to Coach Lee before the game. I noticed he walked out from the locker room area with the team talking with Adam Kemp. Seemed to know a few people on the bench. And I don't think he was Manny Thomas based on the pics I've seen of him.

I'm not concerned with him adjusting..I think he'll be fine. Carter has been really very good since starting but definitely in the last 5. When the three is falling for him he is a legit offensive option every item down.

They lost (losing) two 6'9" guys and a 6'2" combo guard. They already have a 5'8" pg and a 6'5" wing signed along with bringing back Alexis, Carter and Bowie - 6'5"-6", last thing they need is another guard/wing. The need to replace a big forward. Unless of course they've found the next coming of Alex Franklin.

You did make me do research though and I found that taking Siena out of the equation, the average RPI of the other nine MAAC teams is up a couple of points from where they ended up last year. Facts is facts. As nomar might say "9-1."

Maybe he's 6-7 I could not tell how tall he was. He was taller than coach Lee and shorter than Adam Kemp.
We are losing two 6-9 guys? We already lost a 6-7 skinny no rebound forward, who incidentally could shoot. A 6-9 guy who was never part of the plan this year is graduating as is a little used 6-2 guard. So we are replacing them with a 5-9 point guard and a 6-5 slasher/shooter. So if we can get another guy who is 6-6 or bigger I'm fine with that. We are set with bigs for a while, presuming Kemp, Watson & Prinsloo all return.
