Price had 9 assist... i'm not sure how much more creating he can do RF5 but I thought he played the PG position very well. I hope Prescott does have to miss any games

I think his loss was big. I thought their D was pretty good for the most part though. Walker is tough as well. It's up to the players as well. They need to build on this effort. Play like they did today and they'll be quite competive with most teams. When quarterbacks throw stupid interceptions, you can't blame the coach. I thought the ball movement and player movement without the ball was the best I've seen. Kemp's ability down low is going to pay dividends. Think about it. We have a real horse for the next 3.25 years. If Menelik can forget this season, he can be a factor. Let's not give up on him. He's got a lot of potential. Most freshman big guys don't play as well as Kemp has. Rossiter looked like a clown his freshman yr. Price looked like last yrs Price. Jay's stroke was there . Keep the faith boys.

I hope Prescott does have to miss any games You're right...I would not have guessed he had 9 assists from watching, BUT I'll take 9 assists any day of the week from my PG. He obviously played very well and is now 14.5 ppg and 7.5 apg in the two games he's started...Hall can't put those numbers up. I have to say it..if he's capable of this kind of play why was he buried on the bench? I admit earlier this year I put too much trust in CM and the coaching staff to evaluate their own players...I kinda of though that if Price, Carter, Bauer were not playing than there must be a reason, after all CM and his staff should know these guys better than me or anyone else here, right? Well shame on me for believing that. Like ggaff said, can't kill the coach for this effort but there any MANY things he still has a long way to go to prove. After seeing Carter and Price play some pretty good basketball since being "dusted off" from the bowels of the bench can anyone here fully trust CM's evaluation of his players?

It was a good game. Price played like most of us thought he would after last year. yes he took one 30 foot shot but he made it. 9 assists and 0 turnover according to the stat sheet. Much better than RJ. Sam played very well. He was very woozy. The official who stopped play was on top of it. I do not think the Marist bench realized how bad Sam was initially. After he was helped to the bench he sat there with a completely blank look. He will be out for a while IMO. When he walked to the locker room after the game he needed help and was very unsteady. Having him against St Peters on Thursday won't help I hope he can play against manhattan next weekend. Kemp played very well he'll be a star in this league. Bowie had a good game as well. But my star of the game goes to Carter. Without his threes in the later part of the game we are not tied or even close. he played D and rebounded well.
BUT I have some very bad news. In the first half after Watson got his second foul either coach Lee or Weeks called Korey to go in the game. When Korey got up he pulled off him warmup shirt, the crowd cheered/jeered. Martin yelled for Korey to sit down which he did. Then he turned to both Lee & Weeks and yelled at them. "Don't you ever do that." Then Watson got his third foul a minute or so later and coach Lanier called Bauer up. That was his cameo. There is dissension in the coaching ranks now too. I've noticed the coaching staff does not come onto the court together anymore, for either the start of the game or after halftime. So the bad news is that while the kids are playing hard the coach has lost it. He's lost several players and now his coaches. And he fights with the officials constantly so we'll never get the benefit of doubt. I can report that Tim Murray is not very happy. I got that from a very reliable source. Can't tell more. Today even though the team played well and could have won if they had Sam at the end, I've now fallen off the fence. Chuck will be gone. Can you believe that when Martin walked across the court toward the bench right before the start of the second half he asked coach Lee "who has the ball to start the second half?" Usually you want the teacher to be smarter than the ones being taught but I do not believe the teacher is that smart.

I sit behind the visiting bench so I saw Korey get up and down but obviously can't see the dynamics of what happened. I know that Dorvell was visibly upset that the bench did not respond quicker to Sam's incident.

Regarding Korey..he's not the savior and was perhaps overrated by us after last year but Prinsloo is just not ready...He had a HUGE missed rebounds go through his hand all alone in the final 10 minutes that cost Marist a possession.

Just got back, my thoughts. 1) 17-12 timeout, Marist up-Subbed out too mant at once, lost momentum. Rest 1, maybe 2, not 3 or 4. 2) Great job in second half. They hustled on D, especially Kemp and Prescott. 3) Treatment of Bauer needs to be reported to ethics department. Put him in with a minute to go first half coach? Bauer, if you have the money, get in a shot and lose the scholly. You don't deserve this treatment. 4) Bowie cares so much and when he makes mistakes, it visually upsets hime. I love his attitude. 5) Kemp is going to be a top Maac center Junior and senior year. Hustles all out. 6) Price-Showing us that he can be a good scorer when given a chance. We are only finding this out again because te coach's hand was forced. 7) Menelik deserves props for getting back in shape. He is their now. 8) Prescott situation looked like a tragedy at first, great he was able to walk off. 9) Play both halves like they did second half and prove us naysayers wrong, that was fun.

Never a screen for Rusin, at least one that works. He was atrocious today, he wasn't into game. One possession Martin rightfully yelled at him to come back and help the inbounder. He said something like, "get your head into game". Later on offense he literally just stood in corner for 12 seconds, didn't even twitch to get open.

Tough loss. Olson made some big shots. Very good games out of Kemp and Price. You can see that this can be a team on the rise. Price should get the minutes from here on out. A couple of long rebounds and a careless turnover by Jay hurt. The effort was great. There should be no negativity after this loss. I saw no signs of anyone quitting on the coach either. They will win a few more this year. After all of the whining and bitching, isn't that where we'd thought they'd be??? If Prinsloo can develop a bit for next year, this team will be much better. I'd like to see a follow up effort like this. There should be no coach bashing after this game. If there is, then you're just looking for a reason to trash the guy. Loyola's been playing well and Marist gave them all they could handle. Prescott is going to be a force his last two yrs. This is what our expectations are? To hang with Loyola at home. NO, sorry. I love your optimism, but there are reasons to not be happy with losing to mid level MAAC teams at home.

Was at the game. We played better, we're competitive, but, still lost another league game at home. Outrebounded (by 8) and had more assists than turns (thanks to Price).
Other observations:
Kemp can be very good ... needs to improve footwork, dribble less, and use his body to create space (vs. dribbling to get himself into scoring position)
Price is clearly better than Hall, more athletic.
Watson does not appear to have the lateral footspeed to close out shooters on the baseline when he plays the wing on the 2-3 zone. Losing some weight can only help.
Very poor clock management for Marist (meaning Martin) in the last minute when we needed to foul + did not deny Olson the ball couple of times - they had to foul him and he made a bazillion free throws in the last 60 seconds (he has 2 pts at half and finished with 20 or so).
Sam looked very woozy ... likely out a game or two.
Carter IMO is a good role player and should not be playing major minutes at the 4.
Team rebounding needs to improve.

Yankee,
Loyola is 6-3. They're probably a top 4 team. Hell, I wanted to win the game. My expectations are that they win 10 in the league next year. What was Loyola's progression in league wins when their cupboard was bare? I think 1, 5, 10 would be what we should expect. By the way, Coach Brady blew a nice second half lead at home today. Shit happens...
I'm not happy with the loss. They played pretty well. Look at Manhattan. They may suck now. But I bet they're pretty good in 2 yrs. If they could have pulled this one out, they would have been 4-4 in the league. What did you predict before the year. They probably do win if Prescott didn't get hurt.
Can't comment on the coaching staff dissention. I wasn't there. That's certainly a problem...

Brady also has 15 wins this year and he started with crap also at JMU. I think Marist has some players. I just don't think Marist has the coach in place to get them where they need to be. Loyola is not a good team. They are going to do well because the league really, really stinks this year. Marist has to have the expectations to beat Loyola at home.

Can you believe that we got out coached by Patsos. It would not have been even close if Hall was eligible, price would never have gotten in. Zero turnovers by price, ZERO turnovers by Price. The ball movement was 10x better and faster. I'm sorry but if we only have 9-10 scholarship players available we don't have a doghouse. The treatment to Bauer is borderline criminal. He is probably surpassed by Kemp but should be getting more minutes to spell Kemp. Watson should be commended for getting more in shape, he lacks proper coaching or understanding, hopefully it will improve.
I watched Brady for quite awhile today, maybe he did lapse in the end I didn't see that, however, he certainly appeared professional and the team had a plan. He conversed wioth his coaches and wasn't ranting at the officials. Just an observation, doesn't forgive his treatment of Marist.

I think Brady is a good coach. Just can't root for him. He didn't do anything wrong today. But if he had tough fans, they'd say he blew a 9 pt lead at home...
What did Patsos do that was so brilliant? Not that I don't think he's horrible by any stretch. If we had media coverage, someone could ask about Bauer. Honestly, in the beginning of the yr, he was horrible. The only shots he took were threes. Horrible shot selection. I was expecting a good year out of him.
