I wish I could have enjoyed this year and I am so disappointed it was our board that makes me dread any bad Marist loss. Let's go Marist. Love this board and you guys, but this year has just disheartened me

Yup. Coach Phelps will play a significant role this year. Hope he stays a while. The coaching staff saw changes too; former University of North Carolina guard Derrick Phelps joined to serve the Marist bench as an assistant coach. Dunne’s coaching staff shifted after assistant Dorian Long left the program to serve as assistant under first-year head coach Monte Ross at North Carolina A&T. “Derrick (Phelps) is in charge of our guard play and developing them. He brings great experience from playing at a high level in college and also was in the league for a little bit. He’s got a great temperament and fits the Marist community really well,” said Dunne. centerfieldmarist.com/2023/11/06/mens-basketball-preview-examining-the-drastic-changes-returning-cast-and-outlook-of-john-dunnes-squad/

This team has shown they are capable of beating anyone unfortunately they have shown they are capable of losing to anyone as well We're not the only ones in that category . I think Coach Welch said it best on the ESPNU broadcast when he projected that any one of the top 6 teams in the MAAC could win the tournament. Quinny is the closest thing to a MAAC power team this season and even they lost to Canisius on the road and Niagara in Hamden.

Love this board and you guys, but this year has just disheartened me Peace of mind Yankee, peace of mind. You’ll be ok. There, there, pal. Anything I or anyone else says has zero impact on anything. I’m just an angry fan who’s been beaten down by 15 plus losing years of MBB and FB. Forgive me!

I can't figure out how we need a win and a Rider loss since we swept them. Even in 3 or 4 team ties with Rider, I think we make out OK.

MAAC Basketball Tiebreaker Policy
MAAC Tie-Breaker Rules
Seedings for the MAAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships shall be based on the order of finish in the standings. Ties will be broken as follows:
Two-Way Tie If there is a tie(s) for any place(s) in the standings, then the results of the in-season head-to-head competition shall be used to break that tie.
If two teams split their in-season games, then the committee shall use the best record against the highest-seeded remaining teams in descending order as the tiebreaker.
When arriving at another group of tied teams while comparing records, use each team's record against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to their own tie-breaking procedure).
If a tie still exists, then the commissioner or his designee shall use a coin toss to break the tie.
Multiple-Team Tie (3 or more teams) Three or more teams tied are viewed as a "mini-conference" when comparing head-to-head results. The team with the best record vs. the other teams in the mini-conference gains the advantage. If all the teams in the mini-conference have the same mini-conference record, proceed to B below. If two or more teams, but not all, have the same best record in the mini-conference, only those specific teams advance to the next tiebreaker step.
After the top team(s) in a mini-conference is determined, the next team is ranked by its record in the original mini-conference. If there are two remaining teams tied by their record in the mini-conference, then head-to-head results will determine the higher seed. If the teams split their games then proceed to B below.
If there are three or more teams remaining tied by their record in the mini-conference, they would then form a new mini-conference and follow the procedure again starting at A.
The next step in breaking all or part of a mini-conference tie is each team's record vs. the team occupying the highest position in the league, continuing down through the division standings until one team gains an advantage.
When arriving at another group of tied teams while comparing records, use each team's record against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to their own tie-breaking procedure).
If ties still exist, then the commissioner or his designee shall use a coin toss to break the tie.
