Common opponent game……New Hampshire travels to Dartmouth on 12/6 for a matchup. Marist’s next game is at Dartmouth on Saturday. New Hampshire might end up being the best team on Marist’s schedule. They are currently 6-3 with road losses at Syracuse by 11, George Washington by 8 and UConn by 20.

1-5 Dartmouth up 16 on UNH with 12 minutes to go. Yikes. Yeah, Dartmouth had their sophomore wing hit 8/10 3pt'ers. NH let one guy go nuts and it got out of hand. Might have to plan for that kid.

I have NEVER said this since rik smits left. Marist is best team in maac. Just look at results all year. We have good interior players. We have a good abundance of guards. And we have a coach who preaches defensive effort. We may not win maac tourney, but this is the first year I know we are the best. And Cooley is an unsung hero. He is a top 3 and D guy in this conference.

I haven't had a good look at the rest of the league yet ..but my sense is this is not the MAAC of 10 - 15 years ago . part of that is because of the portal .which makes recruiting much more difficult for all leagues ..Its got to be incredibly difficult .I think Dunne has done a fantastic job recruiting the last few years ..So i'm not taking away from him and his recruiting . but i do think the league as whole is weaker than those strong teams of years passed that kept players for 4 years, for the most part, and built strong programs ..that being said ,i still have a lot of teams left analyse..but i will say one thing for sure that i haven't said in years ..we have a strong team . Just a great job of recruiting ...more depth than i've seen in years

The conventional wisdom is when the MAAC’s traditional high ceiling teams like Iona and Siena have off years, particularly, simultaneously, the league is in for a subpar year. No one else is capable of filling the void. Not surprisingly, the general consensus on the team boards is that the “MAAC sucks”.
This is the best Marist team I have seen since 2007 when Brady’s bunch won a game in the NIT at Oklahoma State. That senior laden team couldn’t win the MAAC eventually losing out to a very young Siena team led by Fran McCaffery which eventually grew into an all-time MAAC power within a couple of years. The real hopeful thing about this Marist team is they have a ton for room for growth this year. They could be as good as that 2007 Marist team by March relying a lineup dominated by freshman and sophomores, rather than seniors. I know…..how will they keep them together without NIL? That, however, is about the future, and I intend to enjoy the h#ll out of this team for the rest of the season whether the “MAAC sucks”, or not.

A lesson for the Foxes on the importance of making free throws played out in today’s Siena at Niagara game. Siena goes to the foul line 38 times makes 31 and wins by 5. They shoot Marist’s 64% the Saints lose by 2. Durugordon with 36 points and a perfect 16/16 from the free throw line. The Saints, 3-13, 2-3, visit Po-Town next Sunday.

Greg Gordon, best player on Iona and MAAC Player of the Year contender, quit the team yesterday. Nobody seems to know why.

All that complaining for this. Lol 😂 ... and I believe getting a few wins in the OC schedule is important for the young group. We've played high level teams during the chuck Martin Era and that didn't really translate to wins in conference play. Confidence and positive vibe/experience are important for this team. Bingo

Wow, reading this, we suck. I am dreading the possibility of us finishing top 5 and then losing in quarters. Wolves will love it.

But won't happen. Marist is good, sorry tm Haters. And I say this as a guy who thinks TM should move to new position.
