Murray has done a great job for Marist. Plenty of commisioner cups. Everything I have heard, he is a great guy. Always at the games. He could even get a different job for the college. But he needs to be done as AD for Marist. It is time. We need a new vision. Marist has so many positives, location, academics, reputation of athletes (many kudos to TM for this). But it is time.

Colgate just announced a $25 million lead gift for a new arena. If you've ever seen Cotterell up there you know it's even worse than McCann.
That's how things get done though. Donors have to pony up to build the good stuff. The school isn't going to splash that kind of cash.

If someone walked in to the advancement office with that kind of cash to donate they would beg them to donate it for scholarships. The new President just pledged $250k for scholarships and so did the chairman of the board. The ability to mitigate the debt load that your students take on is a competitive advantage.

Been there ..thats good news ..Someone else talked about Manhattans and st. peters arena ..ive been to Manhattans its not bad ..its very large with a track around it ..its not bad ..St. Peters i dont know about except seeing on tv and it doesn't look nice .both places have space contraints by being on inner city colleges ..not much room to expand.Im sure those places would have to play games at another site for a year if they wanted a new arena .as we would have to as well i think .but youre right . we need a new arena ..we have a marvelous campus ..no reason to not have a marvelous arena .

One would think that - remodeling just the "arena" might not be too expensive - they have taken care of concessions, locker rooms, offices, weight rooms, etc already with the new McCann. That part is as nice as anyones in league and elsewhere.

I would think doing the arena at that time would have been less expensive than doing it by itself at this point.
But as others have stated, there are worse arenas in the MAAC than ours with better on court results.
What are we doing wrong with MBB?

I think we're like 8th of 11 in MBB specific spending and pretty sure last by a good margin in percentage of overall athletics budget allocated to MBB.

I am sure college could find another spot for him if he diesnt want to retire/move on.

Looking good so far tonight. I have no doubts about the team's ability. I think they're very capable of doing damage. Played 2 bad games in the streak. Quinny first half and ran into a buzzsaw last game.
