St Peter’s success shows you how important it is to nail the hiring of the coach. Marist has not done that really since Brady and even then it ended poorly. So yes, as the guy who has done the hiring, this just reaffirms the belief that Murray needs to go.

Ha, I'll vent about the ticket system. Just from a basic AD responsibility standpoint...how are they "currently in the process of switching ticketing vendors, online ticket sales will be available soon."?

Seems like something they should've done over the summer and wrapped up well before the start of the seasons that actually generate ticket sales.

The "premiere pricing" is the biggest joke. "You will let you idiots pay less when we play crappy teams, but you will pay more for non crappy opponents". Such a disgusting way to treat fans.

Finally fired up the old account to comment.

TM has done a lot of positive things for Marist and believe it or not for Men's Basketball.

Marist is one of the few LM/MM MBB basketball programs that has no responsibility to take "buy games" (getting your ass kicked by a high major to collect a check). That is because of TM.

However, he also still abides by his stupid rule of not allowing MBB to schedule NEC teams. I think this harms MBB as these are geographically close teams that are much more inline basketball wise with the type of basketball played in the MAAC conference. NEC teams would be winnable games that would much better prepare us for MAAC play than Ivy and Patriot league opponents.

This is 100% a TM rule and is only because of pettiness/superiority complex having left the NEC foooorever ago.

Fire TM for this alone. Please play buy games. I'm begging. I'd rather get trounced by double digits against Syracuse and St. John's than to UMES and Lehigh. I also think it makes the program an easier sell. Kids want to play top competition and show that they can hang against high-majors. Here, they just get to play utter dreck from low-major leagues and then head into the MAAC. Exhilarating.

I hated the premier pricing thing too. Made the school look cheap and stupid. Never thought he was any more than average. He should have pushed whoever the decision makers are that you can play by the ruless and still be upper echelon in the big sports. A few bad incidents shouldn't prevent reaching for the stars. Safe and stupid should be his motto..

I agree he needs to go, but he deserves a huge amount of respect for running a clean program that had a ton of success the first half of his career. Good AD whose time has come to go.

The problem probably extends beyond TM. The current board of trustees has zero &%$#'s to give about sports. Maybe TM is a bad AD but the fact that nothing has been done to correct the decent into insignificance tells you the board couldn't care less. Until they discover a positive return on investment through sports nothing will change. It sucks.
