Unfortunately a golf team doesn't have 120 members.
I find this strange tho since in you exclude football, there are 11 women's sports and 9 men's. How is there still a 40 athlete difference?

The football program seems to have a lot of male students who walk on from the student body which inflates its numbers. Most of them never play on a game. What would happen if 100 women walked onto the WBB program? Would that make us more compliant?

Unfortunately a golf team doesn't have 120 members. There is a first time for everything.

Living in DC, I'm very cynical and wouldn't be surprised if this isn't a veiled attempt to eliminate FB, at Marist and elsewhere. Add the concussion issue and that FB is a ground acquisition game that reinforces the male patriarchy and war. But seriously, on title ix, isn't it more about equality in scholarships not equality in numbers of players? Marist FB is non-scholarship so if title ix is about scholarships than FB shouldn't be in the evaluation equation. Schools like Colgate and Albany would be in a much worse situation than Marist.

Monmouth 90, Marist 79.5, Fairfield 67.75 will be the final top three on the women's side. The men's race is considerably closer. Iona 69.5, Monmouth 63.5, Quinnipiac 61.25, Marist 61 could conceivably win. Iona will not improve its score; we need Monmouth to lose a baseball game or two or three this weekend to miss the tournament. Marist's current baseball score is 7 (5th place); probably need to end with a score of 16 or higher to win the men's cup. Take the series from Siena this weekend to finish the regular season and have a lengthy stay in Staten Island and it could happen. Overall, winning the cup outright is impossible and it would take something bonkers to tie. As you can see from the above it is 153.5 to 140. Iona is a distant third. Marist's max out score is 152 (if there are so many car crashes around the league that Marist ends up solo 1st, then wins the tournament) so Monmouth baseball would have to drop from T-6th to 8th to lose 1.5 points and finish with a 152-152 draw. Monmouth can't finish lower than 8th in baseball. Looking ahead to next year, field hockey will no longer be a MAAC sport, because of re-alignment and yada yada yada. If that were true of 2018-19, it would cost Monmouth 5 points - not enough to swing the women's race, but possibly enough to swing the overall title. An improved Marist MBB score would be huge, because you have to count basketball. If you reversed Marist and Monmouth in MBB this year (11 to 4); Marist would be in first place overall. good news and bad news in today's update. Good - Marist pantsed Siena 15-2 to clinch its spot in the baseball tournament. Bad - That Siena loss, coupled with Monmouth's series finale win over Rider, put the Hawks in the tournament and clinched them the overall Cup. To win the men's Cup, Marist must sweep Siena in tomorrow's DH to finish 3rd alone, then win the tournament. Quinny and Monmouth would each win the Y Chromosome Cup with a tournament title; if none of the above happens, Iona hangs on and wins.

Four 1st team all MAAC honorees for Marist baseball, so kudos to coach Tracz and staff on the player development front.

Fairfield holds off a Monmouth rally in the 9th to win the MAAC tournament opener 6-5 on Staten Island. Stags play QU tomorrow. Marist and Manhattan starting a little after 3 pm, the winner stays on the field to play Canisius.

following a loss to Manhattan on Wednesday and the whole day being rained out yesterday, Marist has to win 6 consecutive baseball games between now and late Sunday afternoon to win the tournament. Step 1 is Monmouth, about to get underway. Winner gets Fairfield right after this.
EDIT: Poor relief pitching and worse defense bite the Foxes again, and for the last time. After rallying several times and finally taking a 11-9 lead in the bottom of the 8th, Marist gives up a game-tying two-run homer with two out in the 9th. Monmouth goes on to win 13-11 in 10 innings. Marist hit the ball all over the yard as they are known to do, but 4 errors will kill you every time.

This is atrocious!!! Is the winning % for both league & OOC games? I think so. For FB the winning % for league only play is .625. This is what the staff points to for evaluation purposes. That in IMHO is what is atrocious i.e. "We can only marginally compete in league play."
