I don't know what exactly happened, but the MAAC women's tennis championship was apparently decided very controversially. Q and Fairfield were tied 3-3, the last singles match went into the third set, the score was only 1 game apiece in the third set and the recap says the Quinny player was assessed a "match violation" and bam, she lost, boom, Stags win the title. This is the first time that Quinnipiac has EVER lost to a MAAC team in women's tennis since they joined the league, and I believe even farther back to when QU went Division I. What is a "match violation"? Did she yell at the umpire? Illegal racquet? Pine tar on her racquet would be my guess.

Q will leave the MAAC before anyone else Where do you think they would go? Maybe A-10? America East? I'm pretty sure that the PL don't wants them, as the PL really needs another school totally committed to FB.

I was being a bit dramatic .... I do not think there are any conferences looking to expand. But they are the most ready college from the MAAC.
Now when Marist get the Med School up and running we might get another look from Patriot

PL took Loyola Maryland and BU PL took Loyola simply for Men's Lacrosse (Nat'l Champs) adding to excellent PL programs - Navy & Army. BU was for MBB - can't always go to Bucknell. That bet really hasn't panned out . . . Again, for Marist to even be considered for PL, FB would need to go to 60 scholarships. I don't see that happening . . .

Is PL even worth considering? Just to get away from Q-PAC. Loyola was at the bottom of the MAAC that's why they went to the PL. IMO I don't think the PL is any better than the MAAC.

The PL attraction is all academic. After the Ivy I would argue the Patriot is next most prestigious when it comes to academics.
Sports are not important ... they are DI that is enough

Overall, after Ivy the NESCAC D3 (Little Ivies) is second to The Ivy League...the Patriot League would be great for Marist...

It's #1 vs #2 in Saturday Morning's Men's Lacrosse Championship Game at Tenney Stadium. #1 Marist Men's outlasts defending champion #4 Canisius 11-10 in a game of runs to earn their way into the Championship Game vs Quinny. Marist needed to defeat Canisius twice this week to move on to Saturday. Quinny dominated Detroit Mercy 19-10 to clinch their spot in the ultimate game with the crown and an NCAA appearance on the line. Marist Junior Joe Tierney was the player of the game scoring 4 goals in the tightly contested game.

Wasnt Quinny's lax suspended in the fall? What was the story with that?
