I know coach will be working with several combinations "in game" but anyone have any idea how the initial starting lineup is shaping up? My guess would be:
Jarosz at the 5 Baab at the 4 Coffey at the 3 Fitzpatrick at the 2 Clement at the 1
Do you think coach would run Coffey at the 2 and 3? I know she has and can easily play both. If Coffey runs the 3, would that bring Baab off the bench and move Fitzpatrick to the 4. That may move Clement back to the 2 and VanHorn or the Swed to the point...I'm bored today...getting Red Fox fever...

i think that sounds pretty reasonable tomsoph. Dont understand about bringibg baab off bench and fitz at the 4? I dont believe at 5'11" she can play the 4. more interesting will be who do you think will be in the 8-9 person rotation durung the games?

I agree with starters and here is my depth chart
C - Tori Jarosz / Lovisa Henningsdottir
F - Kendall Baab / Morgan Bartner
SF - Sydney Coffey / Maura Fitzpatrick (i can see her getting time at SF) / Casey Davidson (another above average Walk on)
SG - Maura Fitzpatrick / Sydnie Rosales (if her shot is back and she is healthy she will get some time at 2) / Allie Clement (might still get time @ 2)
PG - Allie Clement / Eileen Van Horn (Sr knows system) / Rebecka Garderyd (might overtake Van Horn but Van Horn has first crack at it) / Claire Oberdorf (not an everyday walk on but still lower on depth chart)

With Jossart out for the season, Garderyd or even Van Horn/ Oberdorf would be a better fit at the point.Unless Clements ball handling has improved she would be more comfortable at the #2 and then Fitzpatrick can off the bench at the #2 or #3.

I think Fitzpatrick might be first player to start from day one - she is that kind of talent, and I can't see Clement sitting either. Clement played hurt most of the year last year BUT YES her ball handling needs to improve. Clement's 20' foot jump shoot was great her 3 pt shooting needs to improve for the 2 position. I can also see us going "Small" at times with Garderyd/Van Horn at point - Clement at 2, Fitzpatrick at 3/4, Coffey at 3/4, and Tori at 5

I like tomsoph's starting lineup, but figure Van Horn instead of Fitzpatrick at #2 only because she's a senior. If Fitz is as good as everyone seems to think, I would suspect she would get more minutes than Van Horn, but maybe off the bench. Without a true PG, my concern is ball handling/turnovers. I suspect we will see lots of full court pressure & will probably see Coffey helping break the press. Hopefully Clement can handle the PG position just like Dulin (also a natural #2). I'm also hoping Rosales can become a major contributor.

This is how I see the positions stacking up. Pretty much what everyone has been prognosticating all off season. The real intriguing questions lie for the most part with the second column, not the first. The first is going to be a solid unit in the MAAC.
Tori > Lovisa H.B.
Kendall > Morgan B.
Sydney > Sydnie>Eileen
Maura F. > Eileen>Allie
Allie > Rebecka G. > Sydnie/Eileen
Place the 3 W/O's where you wish, but I don't think any of them get much time. It really doesn't matter how good Oberdorf turns out to be, you can't make a player that won't be there at the end of the season a key component during the regular season.
I expect to see a lot of tinkering with the Chemistry Set early on as the staff learns what the newbies can do when the game is for real.
I think Sydney Coffey is going to play IronMan type minutes this season. Maybe Allie too depending upon her tenderfoot. Hopefully the final credits have rolled on "Das Boot" for her. Given Tori's history I think the default position is rest her whenever you can. Coach has said he was impressed with the way L.H.B. can guard bigger players, so maybe she can be effective in longer minutes.

I'm pulling for Baab too but didn't see the hustle and skill last year that would translate to a starting position this year. I know comparisons have been made of Gang and Beynnon to Baab and the improvements they made coming into year 2, but has she really progressed that much? I guess I will believe it when I see it. Fitz can offer more. Either way, very exciting to see how the starting lineup shakes out.

...Either way, very exciting to see how the starting lineup shakes out. Indeed. Particularly if the 5 best performing (mastery of the system, taking care of the ball) players early on turn out to be 4 guards and a 6th year center.

Looks like it was - there is a video up on Marist Athletics - funny part is they keep talking about how important it is for the fans the the community to get to know the team - yet in none of the videos or articles do we hear from any of the Freshman. Hope that some of the media had a chance to talk to the Freshman and get their take on first few months at Marist.

Hope that some of the media had a chance to talk to the Freshman and get their take on first few months at Marist. I was able to speak with one of the freshman at media day, Maura Fitzpatrick. She seems very confident going into the year as far as the teams ability to compete in the upper echelon of the MAAC (as usual). Surprisingly comfortable with the media for a freshman. Talks about the strong chemistry between the players, especially after the departure of four last year, even though she never played with them.
