Actually yes ...I played BB through HS and in played DI soccer at Marist so I have has my share of coaches. Never quit a single team in my entire life. Believe me I had coaches who yelled, called me names, made me run sprints for hours, make fun of my mother, cuss at me .... But you know what in each of those cases it took place at practice or in a game and I took none of it personally it was about the sport. Those same coaches where the first ones I went to if I had a problem, needed to talk l, or advice. Those coaches who screamed during practice where always so friendly off the field and always had my back.
Actually gave a eulogy at one of their funerals. If your skin is too thin that you can't take being yelled at don't play sports.

Let me say something else our coach at Marist was probably one of the worst technical soccer coaches I ever had. But we played the game for each other for our teammates and none of us ever thought about quitting the team

Well when you get someone to come on with an agenda against this team and program and rehashes stuff we ARE beyond. I love that the coach is talking about the chemistry of this team and I'm glad is better then last year.

Coach Giorgis has got to move on, he keeps pounding the theme that these were selfish players that left HIS program. His ego has been bruised, he must feel the transfers have made him look bad so he has continues to shine a negative light on them with quotes like this one. Great coaches do not always have great character.
Thank GOD our great coach has GREAT CHARACTER in SPADES as well as his staff!!!!! And it isn't just Giorgis saying this - it is the fans, the players, really anyone who watched this team last year.... there was one player who put herself above the team. One of the things that made this team so successful all these years was that the players loved being around each other (away from the sport not just on the court), they always had each others backs and never backstabbed each other. Look no further then Allenspach's wedding recently and all the faces that were there from her team including coach. Heck even Coffey was quoted as saying we only want players here that WANT to be here. Those players leaving was the best thing that could have happened to the program it reinvigorated the returning players and brought everyone back on the same page. Tori's response to the exodus and her commitment to getting that sixth year is the type of person we want representing Marist. "selfie" during pre-game introductions is all that needs to be said. Looking forward to this year.

The players, the fans, even the media can continue to bash the girls that left, the coach should rise above it. Because of his win loss record Giorgis gets a pass when it comes to his abrasive and sometimes condescending personality, which may be the real reason these girls left. This love fest some feel he has with his players has its limits, many of players I've spoken to over the years have a acute dislike for the man. Hi coach, are you the only coach in D1 whose last name starts with an F and ends in an I? These newbie posters who attack think people can't use common sense.

Instead, I think it might well be a family member of the selfie taking departed player. Or who knows, maybe even that player herself. Either way, just try to ignore this albatross, hanging around the neck of a successful coach and program, trying to bring both down to it's level, which by the way is lower than whale poop.

Exhibition game vs D2 Holy Family is two weeks from today. Was wondering if this is a first for the program under BG.
Given all the changes its a nice way to showcase the new players for the fans, and the staff gets to learn a bit about them in a live game situation.
For real begins 5 days later in South Dakota.
