Some posters like petagay are big supporters of the PROGRAM but feel like one player added to this current roster will bring the team to MAAC glory. Then you have people like dewd who doesn't think CM has made a bad move yet.. In his life.. Ever. Funny thing is, you guys are so far to the negative side of the scale that you consider me pro-CM. But I am not. I consider myself pro-patience. I just spend so much time defending the coach from your outlandish criticisms, that it seems like I am pro-CM. Some of your outlandish remarks include jgood always alluding to evil, behind the scenes happenings that only he and the Administration know about ; the coach has been accused of stealing the players meal money or he is a bad coach because he yells at his players or the referees or cusses or nobody has improved or he does not play this guy or that guy. C’mon man! My whole premise from the beginning has been that it takes time to rebuild a program decimated at the start and we should give the coach more than 2 years to figure out if he can do the job or not. You gave him 2 years, then spent this whole season bashing him and now we are at the end of year 3 and some of you start seeing improvement in some of the players and you then blame the coach for not playing them enough earlier, instead of giving him credit for developing the player. You are right that I have not criticized the coach at all because you guys do enough of it and I do not see the need to pile on. I just want you to give him (and any future coach) a fair shake and a chance to see how good they can be. You guys seem to think you can just pick up the available coaches directory and pick out a guy who can turn a program around in 2 years. It doesn’t work like that. I think you would find less than one in ten guys that can turn a program like this around in 3 years. This means that if you fire CM now, in 3 more years, we will likely be back to where we are now. You calling for the coaches head for the whole season and I will be preaching patience. Although jgood and d4d won’t be calling for the new coaches head because it will not be personal for them, but you others will. It will turn into a 3-year cycle of hell until we get lucky and get that guy who turns the program around, if there ever is that guy. After you go through a couple of coaches like that, do you think the good up and coming coach is going to want to come here? If he is that good, there will be much greener pastures in his eyes to go to. The only argument you guys cling to now is the past record, but that’s where it is, in the past. It has no bearing on future results. Deep down I even think nomar sees the possibilities next year, but his fear of being wrong will not allow him to admit it, so he throws out things like “we aren’t getting better, the other teams are getting worse….”, to start defending against next year’s better record that he is anticipating, but not yet admitting to.

This guy must be pro-CM because he is reasonable, balanced and makes a lot of sense.

Gee, look at this from Al Skinner's wikipedia page:
Boston College On April 17, 1997, Skinner was hired to lead the Boston College Eagles men's basketball team after Jim O'Brien left for Ohio State. Nearly all of the Eagles' prominent players followed O'Brien to Ohio State, leaving Skinner with a depleted roster. As a result, the Eagles struggled for Skinner's first three seasons in Chestnut Hill, winning only 12 games in Big East play and 32 overall. After the Eagles struggled in Skinner's first three seasons in Chestnut Hill, he guided the 2000–01 team to the Big East regular season title with a 13-3 record—their first regular season title in 18 years. The Eagles went on to win the Big East Tournament, and earned a #3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. He was named the season's Coach of the Year both Nationally and in the Big East.

In the 2004–05 season, the Eagles became the first Big East team in history to start a season 20-0. The Eagles were ranked #4 in the AP Poll at the time, and even reached as high as #3 later in the season. Though they won the conference regular season title, the Eagles fell in the Quarter-Finals of the Big East Tournament. As a #4 seed in the 2005 NCAA Tournament, they were upset by #12 seed Milwaukee. Skinner was named Big East Coach of the Year in 2004–05. The 2005–06 Eagles finished with a 28-8 record, which stands as the most wins in a single season in BC history. They also advanced to the Sweet 16, tying the second-deepest NCAA run for an Eagle team. During the season, Skinner also became the all-time winningest coach in BC history, surpassing O'Brien's 168 wins.

Now, am I pro-CM, or just here to add some perspective to the jaded views of jgood and d4d and the long-suffering Marist fans yankee and nomar?

The difference between year 3 and 4 is dramatic. Time for 21-22 wins next year for us (+16)! I'll take a reversal of the MAAC record as well. Hope Morton is our Troy Bell.

17 wins compared to 6 in years 2 and 3. Must admit you did a nice job there, but that is still almost 3 times the wins.

I did however pick probably the worst possible example in the history of CB for my point:). I give you credit for that follow through.
