I expect 10 MAAC wins and around 15 overall... I want to go back and see who wrote the posts about Dorvell Carter never amounting to anything. I guess I'd have to take their judgement of talent with a grain of salt. The guy is going to be a major contributor for his last two yrs.
With regard to the team, I do think we'll see a noticeable improvement next year. If not, I'd say it's time for a change. I think that's all that the so-called CM supporters have ever said.

I'm viewing yr 4 as yr 3... That means 1, 3, 8-10. I don't think that's far off in terms of progression. If they don't show marked improvement next year, he should be gone. They should eat the money. If they don't do that, then all this pissing and moaning is a waste of time. The school wouldn't be putting an emphasis on winning. In addition to the 8-10 or more MAAC wins, they shouldn't be any blowouts. I don't think any team will have a significant talent or experience edge over them.

I was on the "Carter won't amount to much threads". He's proven me wrong which is great. He has done things on the court physically that he could not/did not do last year. I guess it's attributed to that injury. He probably was not fully back to 100% until this year. He's not been the same player he was last year in a good way. None of us are experts on this stuff. I'll still call them like I see them but we all have to keep in mind that any player is capable of great improvement or great regression at this level.

On the topic of wins I'm looking for 9-9 at a minimum, 6th seed or higher. Overall wins ARE important but tough to call without seeing the OOC schedule and knowing whether they have 11, 12 or 13 OOC games.
If they played the same OOC next year I would hope for at least 6 wins which would put them at 15 assuming a similar schedule.

I wasn't trying to bash anybody RF 5... Just making a point that none of us are right on everything or have the facts on everything. The players usually decide things. I like your attitude... Sort of hope things turn around so that most can be proven wrong about the future of the team ...

Sort of hope things turn around so that most can be proven wrong about the future of the team ... I know you were not trying to bash anyone. I agree the players usually decide things. I hope that the talent we all see sprinkled through the roster shines next year despite any shortcomings the coaching staff may have. Coaching staff's can grow too...hopefully this one does...they need to. I was just looking at the rosters of other teams for next year again...if Marist can't finish at least mid pack .500ish next season than they will hard pressed to be relevant for any of the 3-4 years after that...in other words, might as well close up shop.

I WANT a JUCO forward type with this scholarship. I usually don't like that route, but Marist needs to make gains now. They can't have less than 10 wins next year. They need to start to change this losing feeling that permeates everything about the mens basketball program.

The eventual next coach is not going to be bound by such a restriction, right?

I'm with you 100% RF5. I like the way you phrased that. Close up shop..... I agree with Yankee in terms of wanting an immediate impact guy. I understand the hesitation though. I think that's what has slowed the growth. If they had one or two veterans that could be counted on to score consistently and be leaders, this year and definitely last year would have been better. It's hard for the coaches to do everything. I saw the expression on CM's face when Rusin got the T. He pointed at the scoreboard. Sometimes students don't follow the teachers, or it takes longer. When you have a couple of on court stars to lean on, the transition is easier. They had none. Bauer is tough, but he takes a lot of stupid shots .

Marist would be stupid to not allow the coaching staff to get a proven guy that can provide immediate production ... this program need instant gratification ... we should of went JUCO last year with Prinsloos scholarship (we dont have any more time for development) ..
They have to go Juco or get a top recruit from a post grad school to help moving foward ..
