I really wanted this game tho ... really wanted to bust Siena on senior night. Just too much Rossiter (Rebs and drew tons of fouls) ... The energy and effort was great tho by Marist. All i can say is these kids has been COMPETING for weeks .. great sign for next season.

You're right. I thought one was a senior.. I don't think all teams start all of their seniors, especially walk-ons. He could have started him and taken him out after a possession. I think Wisconsin put their guys in at the end today...

Another loss. As I've written previously, individual statistics mean little. Every losing basketball team has a leading scorer each game, in this case Alexis. It doesn't matter when you lose. A loss is a loss. The individual efforts are meaningful...the cumulative stats for the team and the players are even more so as they show trends and consistency (or lack thereof) but I agree with your overall sentiment! I've had enough of the losing as most of us have! Wins are the only things that really matter. I expect this team to WIN a MAAC tourney game and than finish above .500 with a top 6 seed next year. Good individual stats will be plentiful once this team starts outscoring the opponent.

Apparently you can't breathe in Rossiter's general direction without getting a foul. 18 FTs himself! Marist 8 team fouls in the first 8 minutes of each half! 1st half 8 team fouls to 3 early on and a worse 8-1 early on in the second half. 33 FTs for Siena as a team. I can't wait for Rossiter and Jackson to graduate, so they stop getting all the calls. I could see if they were really athletic or something like that and the only way we could stop them was to foul them, but they are not that athletic. How the whole team didn't foul out, I do not know. All but Price were in foul trouble. Bauer 10 minutes, 4 fouls, Bowie 9 minutes 4 fouls. C'mon refs.

All that said Marist should sweep Siena next year and finish above them and at least 3 other teams in the standings next year. CM should be fired IMMEDIATELY if it becomes apparent that any of those things are not going to happen. 65% of Siena scoring tonight came from the two seniors. That is a reasonable expectation for the 4th year of a coaches program. If the program can't manage to advance past the point of having to play into the leagues tournament, it's probably time to give someone else the controls. By that time it's safe to figure "what you see, is what you're gonna get" performance wise, just like I was with Magarity, or Giorgis.

The guys who played the best RR, CJ, and Alexis all got to the line because of their aggressiveness. Marist has no answer for RR or CJ, and to make matters worse played horrible defense in the second half. Bauer's 4th foul came guarding RR 15 feet from the basket. The Foxes gave up 51 points in the second half on 60% shooting.

KB didn't have a great game. He misses way too many easy looks. I know everybody wanted to see him play more this season, but he really doesn't bring much to the table on offense. Kemp has a much higher upside. I appreciate KB's rebounding though.
Last night was the first game I've seen where I expected them to score every time down. They were aggressive. I think CM knows what he's got now. It's easy to say that Alexis should have been playing but last night was the first time that he looked like he got it. I hope he follows it up against Niagara. I love what him and Dorvell can do.. I still think that Menelik can be a force. Just needs to catch up with the speed of the game. He had a nice little jump hook. He also looked quicker on D. Rossiter's tough, with his McHale like moves. I really like the way Price played last night. He made good decisions. I like that shooting guard that they might bring in but I think a 6'7 or 6'8 guy is what they need.

RF5 is there a way that you can post the stats per 40 minutes? It would be interesting to see players production. Good game by Alexis.. As I said in earlier post he needs to be on the floor. He is a better player than Bowie and Bowie would be better suited to come off the bench and bring some energy

dewd, interesting that Alexis had a great game, HUH? Shame we only found out because Prescott was hurt. Why must you always twist something positive for the team into a negative against the coach. It ruins your credibility. I have agreed with you from day 1 that Alexis has a lot of talent. I haven't been the one to say he was either not physically or mentally prepared to play earlier in the year, but others have said different things to that effect that I think both you and I agreed we could see being possible. You know, like how he was not fully healed from his injury last year, he lacks focus, he doesn't know where to stand on defense or know to put his arms up, etc. This says he is a work in progress and now, hopefully, he is ready to turn his talent into something positive for the team. He is young and needed time for development. You do not want to admit it, but is it possible the coach has helped him along in his development and is now ready to reap the rewards? You see this as a negative against the coach. I see it as a positive (it makes me happy nomar) that there is another weapon in this weekend's arsenal and more importantly, in next year's arsenal. The more weapons we surround Morton with, the better off we will all be and the team will be better suited to avoid long scoring droughts in games that have plagued them in the recent past.

The Foxes gave up 51 points in the second half on 60% shooting. Bauer's 4th foul was probably a brush with his shoulder or a slight hand-check at 15 feet out, which is my point. RR is the league's coddled star that you cannot attempt to play defense against or risk getting called for a foul. He's not that big and strong, nor is he quick, so how does he get fouled so much? I would say that Siena's shooting percentage was so high in the second half because everybody on Marist was in foul trouble and with the refs calling such a tight game and the team being short-handed, they would have all fouled out if they played any kind of D.
