When the Pats lost to the Giants and ruined their perfect season - fans of NE weren't like "well their effort was good". This isn't rec or intramural - these players are infact getting paid to win so when they don't they need to be held accountable, which includes blowing a huge lead. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bv3SW2DmOE

You are comparing an undefeated pats team who was great for years to a Marist team that has stunk for years but is trying to start to build a winning program?

Im talking about only caring that they gave full effort - there was nothing positive about how they lost today period.
But your right stupid argument, if effort is all it takes to make you happy keep at it

Marist falls from 3rd to 5th. Both Marist and Niagara have 10-6 records but i guess Niagara gets the nod for 4th due to their win over Marist earlier this season. Marist is followed by red hot Rider, Iona and The Mount. My first self proclaimed must win game of the season is Iona to earn the tiebreaker. Mount owns the tiebreaker over Marist so its not out of the question that Marist could find themselves the 8th seed should the continue to falter after today.

But your right stupid argument, if effort is all it takes to make you happy keep at it Marist lost a game. A conference road game in where they lost their top player minutes before game. Just do what you do when they lose, but honestly, this is stupid. Marist will be fine. You keep hoping for a maac championship or a first round flame out. I am pleased with progress last 2 years and look forward to more improvement. Board is becoming just not interesting anymore. Too many agendas, and it's mainly you anti TM guys. I agree he should move on, but I won't let it stop me seeing progress in a program.

Whining and bashing?
If you are to be considered a championship team, then you win when you are up double digits late in the second half, on the road, without your star center, given the enormity of the game.
Others have shared similar sentiment
Not sure how that translates to whining and bashing.
I don’t think this team is the best team in the conference. I doubt they can win 3 straight against the best down in AC.
And I like this team a lot

Me too. I’m usually Pollyanna around here but this was a terrible and costly loss. I don’t see how you can laud Marist’s effort after blowing a 13 point second half lead. You could laud St. Peter’s for getting into Marist’s heads the way they did, but not Marist. Cooley can’t be taking opponents bait and losing his cool. You can’t react to what some a*hole opponent says and get your 4th and 5th fouls on a single play. He lost his cool at ND and that may have cost them that game. They need his 3 point shooting and his experienced hand at the end of games, especially at the free throw line. This is a killer of a loss and puts them in the position of having to beat teams better than St. Peter’s to earn a bye. Just beating Iona won’t get it done. They shot themselves in the foot today. This officiating crew should not be assigned to another St. Peter’s game this season. St. Peter’s fouls endlessly. Hand checks, hip check, body checks. They know the refs won’t call them all so they turn the game into the physical contest they want. Cooley wasn’t the only one who took the bait today, The officiating crew took the bait too. I disagree with a lot of this post, but I respect your view on the issue. I will always respect a team that gives all they have. Does anyone here think Marist players gave up or half assed it last 7 or so minutes? I don't. I think they simply got beat. I am never going to bash a team that loses that put it all out there. I bashed them for effort in quinny game, because they didn't go full out on boards. Today was just about getting beat Idk, man. I saw it. The game was a turd. They shot 33%. A handful of missed layups and plenty of turnovers. They need to get comfortable being uncomfortable. Its the only way to beat a team like St. Peters. Yankee, no more participation trophies. A lot of us are over it. Some of you aren't. Im not joining you.

Is everyone missing the key variable ? Any update on Allen's foot ? Scares me to think of the foot , the ankle i'd feel more comfortable about , a sprain etc. But the foot has got me worrying about a small break or something ..?

This year has been a positive step - but if they are satisfied or talk about "effort" in games like this then they won't take the next step - and that is an important one.

This year has been a positive step - but if they are satisfied or talk about "effort" in games like this then they won't take the next step - and that is an important one. They lost to a conference foe, on the road, who has lost 1 conference game with Washington in lineup. ONE. They also lost their best player minutes before game. I am just tired of knowing the bullshit that will he posted on here after every loss. And if they win, we all say " good job" and that is it. You guys feast on the negative because you hate TM. It's just run it's course, at least to me. I will continue to hope Marist wins. But you know what is gnawing at me. I KNOW some of you have your damning posts ready if Marist finishes 3rd, but gets knocked out by 6 seed. I would also be disappointed, but you guys will LOVE to bash them if it happens. If they get to final, it will be, " they beat a vulnerable opponent, but can they get it done in the final". It's like you don't remember the shit the program was before Dunne. Respect the improvement and hope for more. Jesus, it's just tiresome.

Foot injuries take forever to heal and at this stage even a minor tweak could be season ending.

If it's in warmups, my hope is they were just being conservative and sat him. Has anyone heard description of what happened, post game comments by Dunne maybe?

I listened to Dunne’s interview with Eggink. Dunne was not asked about the injury specifically. Dunne did comment some about the failure to get the ball to the post which prompted Eggink to bring up the fact that Allen didn’t play. A comment to which Dunne did not react. Other than mildly complaining about not getting the ball to the post, and criticizing a coaching decision to save his time outs, his biggest admission was that his team got “out toughed” down the stretch. Honesty, it was a very insightful interview.

I don't agree with him, but coaches always have reasons for comments. I have absolutely no reason to bash Marist after this game.
