Stay in your lane and your doublewide. what lane? 1980’s athlete out of touch with reality. And now you’re making fun of less fortunate people from the south. Archie Bunker much?

Jeter, you seem too disagree with nomar?you don't see an issue with many kids having no commitment now? College sports should not be free agency every year

College sports should not be free agency every year tables turned a little now Yankee , used to be coaches had all the power. they could run kids off programs , they could go on delirious rants against kids ,they could promise the world to new recruits and not follow through ...now they have to think twice if nothing else .. has the pendulum gone to far the other way ? well yes . I think things will even out a bit . i tend took look at all the good and bad in all of these things ,

NCAA and Colleges make millions off these athletes and it’s the athletes fault they’re looking out for their best interest?

Jeter is just delusional - I might have played in the late 80s but this issue started in 2020 - I have talked to many players who played in last decade and they say same thing about todays players. The entire athletics has been making millions and millions is a farce - like 30 schools turn a profit from athletics Out of the 350 DI schools in basketball how many of them are making millions? Not many www.linkedin.com/pulse/i-found-18-profitable-211-money-losing-ncaa-public-scott-hirko-ph-d-?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios&utm_campaign=share_viaBeing a good team mate, working to get better, playing for name on front of shirt vs back of shirt, valuing education over playing times, making a commitment, not crying because a coach “yelled” at you…. Not being all about you and no one else is not from the 80’s - but all those concepts are not for the 2024 athletes.

There is this new invention. It’s called the internet. You’re putting an entire generation is one bucket. Your extensive research (armchair keyboard athletes) said it’s so? A few schools make money, are you kidding me? The SEC and BIG East alone made 2 billion on athletics in 2022.

Sounds like your generation hasn’t done a good job teaching these kids the importance of teamwork and playing for “the badge” at an early age and within the home.

I hate the overall mentality of today’s athletes yes - hate that they quit so easily when things aren’t going their way.
They need to know difference between the athlete and the individual - when dealing with criticism.

Given the insults, I'm pretty sure jeter isn't old enough to remember the guy actually playing for the Yankees. And I'm talking about his actual career, not that final farewell show season.

like Skyscaper said, you’re a hater. First the players, then less fortunate economical families and then people from the south. I like how you ran from those comments. You spend all day thinking about things to complain about online? So all the NCAA and sports programs not making money are the kids (players fault). Maybe your generation that run these programs (colleges, coaches and NCAA) should have done a better job running/managing them.

Players should not be able to just use schools as 1 year stopovers. Those schools are giving free educations. One free transfer, then have to sit a year for another transfer seems fair.

That is my issue. Caitlin Clark should be making a ton of money. I would also say you’re required to put it in a trust and only get x percent. In that case you are protecting these kids.

I would agree with that Yankee, but i don't know if they can legally do this anymore .I've heard of the thought of having kids sign contracts ,maybe thats an easier way to go
