Manhattan’s Perez was the player of the week. His 33 points against Canisius as the second most for a MAAC player this season so far. Anyone want to guess which player has scored more?

Thanks for the stats Leo. I like those figures.
I really, really hope he doesn't leave. If he's doing this his freshman year, imagine what he can do in the upcoming.
I will say, with transferring in and the extra year being granted, I'm not sure who we have coming back next year (or who has the ability of coming back but it's not determined yet). Currently, all I can guarantee is Jones no longer having eligibility. The ones I'm not sure of:
- Enoh - I believe this is his 4th year playing (transfer sat out), so I think he still gets a 5th year. - Herasme - Played all 4 years and coach really values his leadership and grit. Is he given the 5th year? - Sullivan - I believe he only played one year at a junior college, then in his second year at Marist so I believe he will have at least one more year (maybe two). - Cele - Two juco, one year at Southern, so he's in his 4th. I'm assuming he's going to be given the 5th year or coach wouldn't have brought him in. - Bell - One juco (I believe) in his 3rd season at Marist. I'm assuming he'll stay for his 5th.
We could've listed this out somewhere else but I couldn't find it. As of now, it seems like we only have McCool coming in?

Jones/Echols - grad/5th years - no more eligibility ----------------------------------------- Bell/Cele/Enoh/Herasme/Sullivan - seniors - can play next year (2022-23)
Saint-Furcy - junior - can play next year and 2023-24
Cooley/Wright - sophomores - eligible through 24-25 Belton/Botticelli/Harris/Ituka - freshmen - COVID year does not apply, eligible through 24-25
if all five of the seniors stay, McCool takes the scholarship of Jones and there is still one in the chamber to give out. Not sure if Echols is a walk-on or the 13th scholarship guy, but since he has no more eligibility it doesn't matter. Botticelli is a walk-on and doesn't count against the 13. Any scholarship guy that does not return becomes an empty scholly that Dunne can give out.

Thanks Shooter. Is the expectation for the seniors to all stay? I'm sure some may want to move on but that group is part of the core so I assume they will all be asked back and stay.

I have no idea. I think we really need Victor and Sam. I'd love to have the Monmouth Game version of Matt Herasme but the Siena Game version of him was a disaster. Braden is a good dude but it doesn't seem like he's fully in the plans anymore - Javon is a better player already. It's entirely possible that Raheim's poor decision has already decided his future at Marist, but I don't know that for a fact.

I think we have at least 2 more. With McCool coming in I don’t see Bell returning (may use that extra year somewhere else). My guess is Sullivan probably doesn’t come back at this point. I would put Enoch and Cele as locks to come back. Herasme is interesting because he can shut down the best player on the other team and seems like a leader. If he could shoot like his sophomore year he becomes really valuable.

Do the 5th year/covid years count as scholarships towards the 13? I thought Jones didn't count against the 13 this year, so could we have 18 scholarship players next year or does that exemption only apply to people taking their extra year this year? Or do I have that wrong and they do count towards the 13? I don't think we would keep 18 scholarship players next year anyway, but is it an option?

Must have been a slow week for MAAC rookies. Jao had his least impactful game since the first couple of games of the season...by far. I was hoping they would not be ready for Jao since he did not play them the first time, but they watched him on film and had a good plan against him. The only way he was getting to the hoop was by forcing it and that is what he mostly did. He has to figure out how to find the open man in the corner or our big down low or to take the ball back out when the drive isn't there.

I give us a 5% chance of retaining him past this season

You and yankee. Neck and neck for the 2022 Mr. Sunshine Award. Just unfortunate reality of todays game. Lets hope he leads us far in AC this year. We can worry about next year after that
