Dont see the difference with tiny and his good friend dan hurley when he moved up to wagner if you can coach then you can coach to compare him to just a recruiter just makes no sense at all. And by the way if someone like him doesn't come in soon who will have the respect of the present players this team will lose atleast 6 guys.

Isn't Morton related to Tiny?

Billy Carmody let go at Northwestern. Paul Lee agrees to stay on at Marist to help with the transition to the new coach without any guarantee of a job. Paul Lee worked under Carmody at Northwestern for about 8 seasons before Marist. Maybe a reunion is in order. Maybe it's been "discussed"

I like it.

Interesting idea if they had not just rolled the dice and exhausted all patience afforded to a fledgling D-I coach. Theres no way Murray is going to risk professional suicide by going with another unseasoned coach. No equity left for another experiment. Have to hire someone with some “gray” in his beard. Maybe a hot assistant but I think a HS guy is reaching too much. To your knowledge, has Tiny ever been rumored for a jump to college?

No problem with Hill or Carmody.

Marist could get into a bit of a battle with Siena for Carmody. I would be very happy and shocked if he ends up here.

He played college ball at Union in Schenectady. I have no problem with a Carmody/Lee duo. They'd be the most well coached team in the league.. Pay him a nice salary and get him..

Didn't Fred Hill's name come up last time, or maybe during the search that produced the Brady hire. His record at Rutgers was 47-77, his only stint as a head coach. Carmody's record at NWU wasn't very good, but earned the shot at the big time by being a big winner at the mid-major level. He has the potential to immediately bring stability and credibility and the proven track record of a winner at the mid-major level. Like Ctfoxfan says a little grey in the beard might be in order this time. Just make sure the candidate still has the passion to work hard to win, and not looking for a bridge job to retirement. And Ggaff, Marist will have to pony up. His annual salary was probably close to what Marist paid Martin for all 5, and as yankee says, Carmody will have multiple suitors. www.sippinonpurple.com/2013/3/17/4115228/bill-carmody-drake-northwestern-basketball-head-coach-firing

Carmody a Jersey guy. Welcome back. Spring Lake, where he grew up, is a knockout beach town, even after Sandy. Right next to Sea Girt where Parcells lived when he coached the Jets.

I just don't see it. Is he really gonna take 250-300 thousand to come to Marist? I don't see Marist going any higher and probably closer to the lower number. Now, Skinner would most likely take that as he supposedly wants back in and hasn't been coaching for a few years. Plus Bob Ryan did a hatchet job on him that has followed him since the BC firing. Carmody would be a better pick, granted, but I don't see any possibility of him coming here. And I wouldn't expect Marist to go up to 500 grand or more. That is asking too much IMO of the administration when they are part of the MAAC conference.
