So objectively Lacrosse experts say Marist is in rebuilding mode but the coaches still place them second with basically 50% of the first place votes…….please TM, time to give Lacrosse the football treatment. They already have a great HC in place.

They already have a great HC in place. The MAAC might still be gettable this season but we'll really need the young guys to develop to contend in 2025. The weak affiliate members all leave (except Sacred Heart who will be full-time) and in comes Merrimack with a successful lax history and the debut of the Iona program, we know Iona doesn't screw around with supporting their programs.

Who's driving the athletic department?

McDonald coming back means the infield is STACKED. Need a #2 pitcher to step and then we are in excellent shape

McDonald coming back means the infield is STACKED. Need a #2 pitcher to step and then we are in excellent shape Stella Blanchard: 2023 Gatorade Player of the Year in Connecticut. 0 earned runs allowed in 12th grade. Can hit too. Potentially a really special recruit. Phippen 2.0? Anna Sidlowski: Delaware County (PA) Player of the Year. 572 Ks in less than 3 seasons, also hit 19 career homers. Isabella Milazzo: mid-year transfer from Saint Rose after their announcement of closing in June. Same HS/hometown as Calista Phippen. In two seasons at the D2 level was competent if unspectacular. Numerous 10+K starts. NE10 ball not far below MAAC level to be honest.

The Albany Times Union named Bella Milazzo the Small School Athlete of the Year in 2021, her senior year. I think the article profiles her dominance and impact at Ichabod Crane as the pitcher “next up” after Calista Phippen. Bella Milazzo

Women's lax was picked 9th of 10 in the MAAC preseason poll, ahead of only first year program Rider. Grad student attack Kerri Gutenberger selected All-MAAC.
Keith Detelj makes his Marist head coach debut Friday afternoon at home against New Hampshire. It will take a while to rebuild the program but at least this year they will have significantly more depth in numbers; they ran low on bodies each of the last two seasons under Jessica Wilkinson.
