Lamb has been cleared to play. Spoke to Lamb today. He told me he has high goals/aspirations for the season. He wants to earn a lot of minutes. He noted to me that he wants to start, but I don't know how realistic that is. Probably just strong optimism. Seemed very confident though.

I'm excited about this years team ..I'm not worried about the "loss" of Chauvaughn ..Unless people think we are going to win less than 6 games with the current team ..I'd rather have 5 guys gut it out every night than have a star player and continually lose .The schedule is not strong the first few games so I'm really looking forward to a great start. From what i understand they had a very good showing against Cornell in their scrimmage .I think this team will surprise more than a few people ..

Great to hear something on the men's team. Thanks for posting.
One of the best thing that is happening to this team is the players simply having the same head coach for 2 consecutive years. Who would have thunk it? A glimmer of stability. The bit of player movement in the off-season allowed them to bring in a couple of more guys recruited for their system. It can only accelerate the process of re-establishing some semblance of a coherent "program" once again at Marist.
I read the other MAAC team boards and the expectation for Marist is off the charts low. You would be hard pressed to find a opponents prediction that has their team losing to Marist. It shouldn't take much to "impress".
Two things I'm going to look for immediately are improvement from the key returnees -Tex, and Lee, and most importantly, how do the freshman stack up in the MAAC right from the get go, especially Lamb and Parker. I consider those Makers big gets and were stars in very good high school programs. The more time the newbies earn, the faster the transition to basketball respectability occurs. At least IMHO.
Maker has been very candid about the challenges the program faces due to coaching turnover, injuries to key players especially Hart, and youth and inexperience. He balances that by rightfully pointing out the leadership of the upperclassmen and the eagerness and how the skills of the newbies will fit the system. I think it has set a good tone for the coming season

Very excited for this year's incoming class ... But (party pooper here) any concern that we have no NLIs for 2016... Can't afford a lull

Very excited for this year's incoming class ... But (party pooper here) any concern that we have no NLIs for 2016... Can't afford a lull Nice timing Nomar! Speaking of avoiding a "lull", it seems that one has chosen to avoid Marist. Verbal Commits is reporting that 2016 Center Jimbo Lull has verbally committed to the San Francisco Dons. Though the morning fog may chill the air, he didn't care. Adam Finkelstein Verified account โ@adamfinkelstein
New Hampton big man Jimbo Lull has committed to San Francisco. California native is heading back close to home.

I think the Red Fox faithful are really going to like the new team. They will feature one All League quality player, Khallid Hart, surrounded by a bunch of new talent, and a couple of returning players who have retooled and improved their games. I know there are still a couple of gaps in the team, but Maker is very good at putting players in positions where their strengths are allowed to shine, and their weaknesses are minimized.
