The NCAA Div 1 Basketball National Letter of Intent signing period begins next week on April 15, 2015 and ends on May 20, 2015. I read on the National Letter of Intent website that signing a Letter of Intent is not a required step to earning an athletic scholarship
I do not see anywhere any news or rumors about potential Marist recruits for the coming year. We all know Coach Maker has been out beating the bushes but...
Any body heard anything at all???

Ken, I google every couple days and literally nothing has been coming up. Not even second or third hand mensions of Marist being involved at all. Hopefully Maker and company have contacts in Istanbul, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Greenland for some under the radar guys:). Unless they are like secret agents that keep all interest a secret, I just don't see any American kids they are involved with right now.

Yankee, thanks. I also check out the various recruiting websites and have found nothing. I was kind of hoping one of our insiders might have some advanced info to share. I guess we'll just have to be patient and wait until some news come from the McCann Center. We'll have to remain HOPEFUL & patient.

I think next year will be tough -
What do i want/expect out of next year -
I want our recruits to win multiple rookie of the week awards - not one player every time but at least 2 players winning the award multiple times - that will tell me that we are on the right track .
He will be signing 1 maybe 2 players before next year.

Had faith Coach Maker would come through. Hope Joe Mooney decides to come play at Marist. More recruiting news should come our way in the coming days.

GRRRR, I have been googling Marist basketball for 2 months straight, click the little news icon and hit most recent. AND YOU FIND IT FIRST? Looks like a good player for his system. And for extra benefit, any name that ends in the "ey" sound is great for chanting when they win championships. Sounds like the marksman we have needed.

He's a lefty sniper. Good size. He's increased his strength. Seems to have a high IQ. Some video out there. Decent offers. Would be a nice acquisition if he carries the rifle with him to the D-1 level.

So far offers include Niagara, Mt. St. Mary's and FDU. A couple of Ryan Funk highlights in the video embedded in this recap of the NEPSAC AAA Championship Game. He led all scorers for St. Thomas More in a losing effort. Commentators like his game and imply he is flying under the radar. Brewster Academy's line up would be competitive in the MAAC. 3 ESPN top 100 recruits. LOL St Thomas More vs Brewster Academy.

Funk is much higher rated at least in New England. He is around the 65th recruit in New England while Daugherty is somewhere in the 200's. Seems like very similar players actually if you look at their game tape.
