Great minds think alike. Same thing for me. Looks like a strong kid. Ranked third in his area. Well rounded player. Once again, good passer..

Just an FYI two kids that we offered scholarships to for 2015 committed to different schools.
Corey Johnson- Committed to Harvard over Creighton
Tyler Hagedorn- Committed to South Dakota
I know we might have had individual threads for these guys but figured I would keep everyone in the loop on this recruiting thread

Is that true?!
I do not understand why we weren't involved?
To lose him to another mid-major seems unacceptable to me.

I am sure Marist had some conversation with him and his Dad - hey Derek grew up midwest and chose to stay in the midwest - go no issue there

Maybe he didn't want to follow his Dad maybe he wanted to make a name for himself ...maybe living up to the Smits name at Marist would have been too much... Always being compared to dad and dads accomplishments

Yup, a lot to like. Sounds like he makes those around him better and is doing it at very high level of H.S. Basketball. Lets hope Maker can get him a new set of big dogs up front to feed during his career at Marist.
