I know we all know that the past academic issues are causing us serious issues - but a few of us have been talking outside of the posts and it is worse than i think some realize.
The Hall and Goodwin alone cost us one of those big men we wanted - someone who had looks from A10 schools and spurned them because he wanted to come to Marist - and sad part is his grades where not that bad (B range)
You come here you better hit the books - and Martin if you want to be able to recruit some of these B to B- average students you better make sure your current players are studying!!!

Good Morning all,
Nomar I hear that was one thing that the staff was strong on with the new guys coming in this season class work.

Well I hope so it has been beaten into them by the administration - Hall and Goodwin should never ever have happened. After what happened prior to last year - they should have been more on top of those two last year - and that is what cost us a good bigman who probably would have gotten in had that not happened (and I happen to think this guy would have succeeded academically at Marist - he would have had to study like everyone else) The worst part is we talk about wanting to have player the really really WANT to be here and this was a kid who was just that having turned away "bigger" schools

I hear you it suck big time, the fun thing is that Hall is still on the team and I know he is not going to be playing much but if he does not do good this year it can be a black eye in a year that could be good.

Hall still on this team is a joke. He failed his teammates twice. Why should they give him another chance? If they want to let him keep his scholarship, fine. But he is a horrible example for these kids. He was a big reason they had 2 bad years. They relied on him to be the starter twice. They didn't play Price much at begginning of last year because he was starting. He derailed a lot of what the bad coach was planning. He should not be giving a big role, but who wants to bet he gets more than 15 minutes a game?

He should not be giving a big role, but who wants to bet he gets more than 15 minutes a game? Of course. Why keep him if you're not going to play him? Lots of Frosh on the roster, coach under pressure to show marked improvement, a perfect scenario to default to a more experienced player. Inevitable fast hook at the expense of Lewis and Curry?
