Anyone consider that if Morton is too good we could be his prep school? Imagine he is everything most of you think he will be... think 14-16ppg and 10 apg - think those larger schools that where scared off a bit don't come back into play (especially if we win 8 or so games)

Remember, no Martin, no Morton at Marist...so could that mean no Morton, no Martin at Marist?

Love all this talk about offense especially with the way this team struggled to score last year for long periods of time it was tough watching. With the anticipation of good pg play who knows who will benefit more. After watching morton play all you have to do is run the floor. A good pg will do what the situation demands in order to win. I believe marist will be very exciting because the kid is an exceptional passer he can flat out score the ball but may be just as good a passer. The crazy thing about this is morton can also run off of picks in order to spot up or be a decoy to set up other players. On another note kid just played against frank turner (canisius) in atlantic city and gave him serious problems. I believe he will stay at marist for his entire career no matter how well he does cant ask for anything better than to play against kentucky for your first d1 game then south florida. I also think the addition of momo to iona will keep him in the maac. I believe marist has several guys that can avg double figures but i wouldnt be surprised if the lil guy leads the team in scoring hes very fast shoots very far and has a serious handle, man cant wait!

Love when your posts pop up Pearl. It's always good news... They haven't had a guy can break down defenses at will. I think he'll bring out the best in a lot of guys. Kemp's scoring will increase from his ability to penetrate. I've read a lot about Curry's ability to nail threes. How good of a shooter is he? I saw a clip where he put a dagger in a team. Is he a sleeper that can score more than most expect? I'm not saying this yr but in the future? I think Carter and Alexis both showed signs of what they can do at the end of last year. They should really benefit by Morton's abilities.

Great conversation. Much speculation about guys most of us have never even seen. If fact if we bumped into some of the incoming freshmen at Quisnos we would not even realize who they are. But we are predicting great things for them.
I think Marist will, much like last year, have a different guy lead the team in scoring practically every game in the first half of the season. In the second half of the season one or two guys will take over the lead scoring role with a 12 to 14 ppg average. Those two guys could be, Morton or Lewis or Price or Alexis. The other two plus Bowie, Kemp, Curry, Carter will all average between 8 to 10 ppg.
absolutely love pearl's optimism. For a few years I've been hoping for a one man press breaker like we used to have in JJ. It seems we have a one man press breaker again, starting in October.
