Wow I just can't be happy can I .....
I was sitting here thinking man these are some drastic changes which had to happen - maybe we can do something with next year after all but then...I have Deja Vu
Haven't we time warped?
We sound like we did 3 years ago when we where all talking about the new recruits in Rusin (former Mr. Basketball in Vermont), Prescott, Johnson, Alexis, Watson, and Drummond. We had just gotten rid of a decent player in Williams (asked to leave) and RJ Hall was coming off a pretty good Fr. season.
Man we where all stoked and look what happened.... You can't tell me these recruits are sooo much better (well maybe with Morton) but these articles and write ups look an awful lot like the ones we read about the kids listed above.
Well its round two - so is it the players or the coach we will see.....

I hear ya...and I was even more fed up with the whole program after the transfer announcement today than I had been before.
But I do like these new players. I'm interested to see who else may be coming in.
But I also acknowledge that it could blow up again just like it did when we all liked the Rusin's and Prescott's of the world coming in.
Since I can't change anything right now I'm gonna hope that this round turns out better than the round of recruits two years ago. I'm hoping this time it's the RIGHT mix of players, perhaps Morton and Lewis are both obvious stars from day 1. I will hope and we will see. If it's a train wreck again or something else embarrassing happens even before the season starts I'll be all over it. We shall see what happens. Whether you like these new players or not there has to be at least a hint of uncertainty, even in the most positive fans because of the track record.

We lost 3 players who know nothing but losing. I am just reenergized to see something new. Expectations for next year stay the same. By his 4th year, they need 9-10 MAAC wins.

Honestly - there is no way he can do this and not get a fifth year (Now I'm not saying he should - I still think after yesterday history might be doomed to repeat itself). Next year's team has no chance at success (in terms of what almost all of us agree on for a 4th year coach) - this is going to be maybe an even younger version of that 1 win team. If we fill these slots we will have 6 Fr. 4 So. on the roster. This is really as if the last 3 years didn't exist. Those posters who talked about how we where going to succeed - much of what you counted on improving just walked out the door - don't tell me that Prescott's development was not a big part of next year's "turnaround" and Watson finally getting it was another. Now while I like what has happened in the last day mostly because the unknown gives me a glimmer of hope - but these kids where not looked at by any major programs (and not many good mid-majors) and the fact that we are all excited that Siena looked at them is a little scary - Siena wanting them doesn't hold the same value it might have 2 or 3 years ago. And go back and read our posts and articles about the players that just left - they are the exact same things we are saying now. Prescott will be All-MAAC, Candon will be the next Wittington, Watson is going to dominate the MAAC - we all said these things. Now the good stuff...... I think the academic portion has sunk in with coach - Lewis was being looked at by Columbia, just like Prinsloo and Kemp where being looked at by Ivy, and Morton is a honor student. I do think if we can eliminate that outside distraction it will go far. As far as I'm concerned when they do fire Martin he can come work for me in Sales - damn this guy can sell. He is still convincing kids to come to Marist despite what Yankee and myself have said on this board (looks like our negativity doesn't have the kind of effect some of you thought) " I think the bulk of our production is here at Marist" - WOW I mean between the xfers, suspensions, and graduations - we lost more then 50% (yes I know he is saying the right things about Hall to the paper but I'm being told that he still might not make it) With exception of Bowie who started every game - Carter started 17, Alexis 2, Kemp 13 (hand), and Price 13 - I'm not disappointed in who we have left but saying the BULK of our production is still here is just talking out ones arse. "I'm excited about next year. Four of my five starters are coming back. My sixth, seventh and eighth guys are coming back - hmmmm this one is hard to swallow Let's assume Prescott is the starter not coming back - Rusin, Watson, Bauer, Goddwin where not in his top 8 guys in the rotation? ?? I can't count eight players on the roster without using the walkons, Prinsloo (who in no shape or form was in the top 8)
