Thank you Bauer for playing like a warrior last year, playing tons of minutes with undersized teammates. You took a beating for the team. Sorry this year was not handled well.
Thank you Dorvell Carter for showing the staff what they missed until Menelik Watson couldn't play that night. You played great the rest of the way.
Thank you Sam Prescott for working hard this year to stay eligible and showing you have explosive capabilities that just need to be cultivated properly.
Thank you Menelik Watson for finally getting in shape by MAAC tourney time and showing us a few flashes of your potential. You showed some nice moves during the Niagara tourney game.
Thank you Price for not sulking when you were not playing in the beginning of the season. Justified or not, you played with intensity the rest of the season. I see you being a good combo guard/7th man on the team in the future.
Thank you Kemp for being a better player than the recruiting services said you were. You have top potential, especially rebounding and defense.
Thank you Anell Alexis for showing you have the most potential on this team if given the proper chance. Your athleticism and length are sorely needed next year.
Thank you Candon Rusin for showing better defense the last 8-10 games. Come back with that focus next year.
Thank you Bowie. You proved you are going to be one of the most solid 4 year players at Marist if you stay the entire time. We also miss coach Joes input, bring him back:).

Thank you to all the Marist College basketball players for playing their hearts out this year and showing up to practice everyday and working so hard to represent the college to the best of their ability - i am sorry that the school has not given you the tools you need to succeed and that they have failed to provide you with the leadership you deserve at the DI level.

I had the opportunity to make the trek from Tampa to Bridgeport over the weekend. I was extremely impressed with how energetic and motivated the team was for the Niagara game Friday night. It is hard to motivate kids to play in an 8/9 game when the host school is waiting in the wings. I have been reading these blogs all year and was interested to see how the team would play when pride was all they were playing for. They played an inspired game. They completely outplayed and out coached the opponent. I can only speak from a limited perspective because those two games are all that I have seen but I believe a decent foundation is in place for the future. I was also impressed by the following for Marist at the tourney. I don't know how many were combined girls/boys fans. I had a group of five students sitting behind me during the Fairfield game Saturday. They were were exactly the kind of fans you would hope would be supporting your team. They were totally into the game, funny as hell and trying to be interactive with the players and cheerleaders. I hope to get to more games next year but with my coaching schedule these were the only two I could make.

Thanks coach...Coach Martin doesn't get many compliments on this board. We love having you as a Fox fan. Jay was everything you said he was. I think he'll be even better with a yr under his belt.
