Yankee can some one start a subject board to thank the players I think a thread would be a great idea. But a subject board seems too much. For example, a thread on the mens board about Bauer and McDerby would be cool and one on the womens board about Allenspach would be great. Actually, doesn't just have to be graduating players.

Happy to see someone other than Siena or the home team win the Maac ... I cut bball off last night ... love to kno see that Siena got blown out by 30 ! love it ... We def need a Glover type player .. Marist has to allow coach to find a juco glover type if we want to get back to the top ...

Nomar33, I think your comments below are on target. Further, I believe the real problem is that Chuck Martin does not know how to lead and coach his players. I don't care if you add Morton or any other player that is perceived/ blown up to be Marist's future savior. The fact is that if the coach can't coach, the team will never be great. I recall all the hype about Watson being the next great player. Well, it has not happened and it looks like Martin has put Watson's back to the basket with the same "sh_t" dribble drive offense that does not work with the caliber of players that Marist recruits. Whoever does not get this is suffering from blind optimism.
"Dewd no idea how you can watch this game and have hope? You get a hard on over beating a number 8 seed, i too was happy we beat Niagara - but please. This team is not good and will be awful again next year. Your idea that we will be better is based mostly on other teams getting worse - other teams losing key players or senior not Marist playing a better brand of basketball.
We are not good - and we will suffer next year for this"

jgood, we both disagree what will happen over the next 8 months. You are predicting that there will be many defections of players and assistant coaches if Coach Martin stays. I do not think that is going to happen and it will be interesting to see what happens there. Assuming there is not a mass exodus, I believe they will have a decent season next season (top half of the MAAC, 10+ conference wins) and you and nomar say they will be at the bottom no matter what unless they get rid of the coach. We will see who is right next season. I'm done arguing about it. Let me know when the mass exodus of players and coaches start since you have the insider information. Hit the books, get that degree and I hope you have a good offseason.

Dewd, I do not recall stating there will be an assistant coach exodus. Yes, players are looking at other options and are being pressed to stay. My prediction stands that next season will be worse than this season "unless" other teams get a lot worse. Do you really think that Martin knows how to coach? I say, he has no clue how to run anything, but tries to mimic what he observed at Memphis which will NOT work with the caliber of players that Marist can recruit.
I am NOT Goodwin. He was one of Martin's two chosen captains that were out on academic suspension. What a disgrace that Martin chose them and did not name Bauer, a senior. That is one of many signs of a sh_t coach. Mark my words, you will regret having Chuck Martin as head coach next season - another waisted year for Marist Mens Basketball team. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! If Marist could get out of Martin's contract, he would be gone. Too bad for the players who have to endure Martin's many shortfalls if he is still around next season. . . .

You speak with such certainty & conviction. You know for a fact that "If Marist could get out of Martin's contract, he would be gone." One does not usually get out of a contract unless there is some agreement to how much money it would take to settle. So is what you say fact or are you guessing that Marist just does not want to buy him out.
You also seem to know a lot about the players. While it is entirely possible some player)s) may be looking elsewhere the likelihood of one of our guys going to another D1 program on full ride is slim to none. The only caveat would be if there is a college coach out there with an open scholly who has had prior contact with one of our guys when he was in HS.
Lastly, by what measure do you declare next season worse than this year? Is it wins/losses only or do you have another way of measuring?

WOW most of the season some of you guys talked about how these players are treated and about these players being on a losing team but these kids still played hard for the most part. But I put up one post about thanking them and every one just over looks that it says a lot about what is important. The season is over and CM is back next year and its nothing no one can do. Will you can not show up for games but you know what the games will still get played next season.
So take some time away from your crystal ball and say thank you even if the players dont read this board its only right.
