Very disappointing. It'll be an interesting off-season.

That was embarrassing. 55-31 final. 31 points is all time MAAC Tournament low. FF underclassmen are way ahead of ours...of course FF has the best SO and FR combo in the league, largely because Needham is IMO one of the top two underclassmen the league has had since Marist joined in 1997 (CJ Anderson).
Well now that the book is closed on 2010-2011 and CM will be back the hope is this SO class, particularly Prescott and Carter can take their games to another level as Jr's...that Kemp and Bowie come back stronger and more polished as SO...and that Morton's speed and passing ability take the offense to a higher gear, two or three higher gears.
I'm not comparing Morton to Needham and I don't think he has to or will come in and score 15ppg as a FR, but Isaiah does have that strong upper frame for a little guy thing going on, similar to Needham...that combined with his speed will hopefully allow him to finish despite his size.

Morton, Kemp and an open scholarship. That's what will make or break next year. I stand by what I said before that they need a power forward, and if the guys job is on the line next year, they should let him bring in a JUCO. Your security blanket against foul trouble in the front court cannot be Pieter Prinsloo. Not, next year anyway.

I agree...Kemp and Morton are key, and I would put Prescott in there as well as a guy who can be a lead player on a good team at this level. Prescott just needs to polish the game he already has, much like Kemp. I would love to see an athletic JUCO PF. That is badly needed. Guys like Carter and Bowie just need to continue to develop in their roles. Hopefully Price can fit into the role of 15 min backing up the 1-2. Watson 15 min backing up the 4-5. Alexis for instant offense. That open scholly is so key though. Give me a 6-7 guy who can jump, grab rebounds and score buckets inside. Does not have to shoot a lick outside 10 feet. A Ringgold type would be fine with me.

They should check out Cleanthony Early a Sullivan County CC kid who presents matchup problems because he is 6'8 and can handle the ball and slash to the hoop. Apparently had attitude problems but grew up when his brother died. Wants to stay local near family. May have another year there though.

I would suggest the negative posters get off the roller coaster ride if you can't handle it. We'll be fine the next couple of years. So will FF. Gotta have somebody tough to play or it would not be interesting.

Just trying to focus on what must be an infusion of new talent for the program to move forward. What was in place this year is not enough. Kemp played so little I consider him almost a new guy. If Morton hasn't taken over either Prices' or Hall's minutes by January, uh-oh. Agree...just think that a couple of the SO's here could still get better. Morton should start from day 1. Price as a backup at 1-2. Hall I think can help but don't know if he's that much better than Price in a backup role and don't know if he deserves it.

Dewd no idea how you can watch this game and have hope? You get a hard on over beating a number 8 seed, i too was happy we beat Niagara - but please. This team is not good and will be awful again next year. Your idea that we will be better is based mostly on other teams getting worse - other teams losing key players or senior not Marist playing a better brand of basketball.
We are not good - and we will suffer next year for this

Fairfield's athleticism was off the charts compared to us at the guard positions especially. Needham and Nickerson are not only great players but stellar athletes. The rest of their team is strong and physical.
I know Chuck's coaching is to blame for a lot of the team's issues, but at the same time the lack of athleticism from Marist was eye popping tonight.

My hope does not come from this game. It comes from yesterday's game and the trends that I see. They had no legs today. They are short-handed, young and not yet as good as Fairfield and playing at Fairfield, the number 1 team in the MAAC this year. You keep saying they will be at the bottom of the MAAC next year. I say they will not finish at the bottom of the MAAC through a combination of experience, new talent, returning injured guys and many teams coming back to the pack. We will see who is right next year. I can't wait. I am done for now trying to provide sunshine to your gloom. We will see when next season comes around. You should take a macro look at the team and not focus on the bad times. Things are getting better, but I am done telling you how or why until next season. Peace out.

Plain and simple. . . Chuck Martin is a lousy coach. Keep him on and we are just postponing any chances of ever becoming a winning team. Martin's offense is embarrassing. Next season will be even worse. That is my prediction. Tim Murray, please find a new coach to replace Chuck Martin.

Dewdrops I stop trying to do that weeks ago some time people just have to see it and yes the guys had no legs and the first 10 minutes we played some good def. No one seen that part. Was I the only person to see FF has 8 players on the court our guys got fouled all day and we got no calls we all know how that goes number 1 seed at home. I hope all you guys have a great offseason and enjoy the summer without any more snow.
Also this might make everyone fill better look at Morton's game yesterday

FYI Jgood CM is at the head again next year and I for some reason think these players are ok with that also.
So but you can write a letter to the powers that be and ask for a new coach.
Also to Sam you are a great player someone I feel can run this team and should be team capital I am sorry you did not play the FF game. But in the over season if you work hard I think you can be a top player in the MAAC good and be healthy.
Also Price you played great the games you started and I understand yesterday that you had nothing in the tank but thank you for this season and I also wish you a good and healthy off season.
Korey man your a great guy I wish you all the best in life and I wish you could of been part of a winning year but for some reason I know you will be a winner in life good luck.
All you other thank you also and I know next year you will have a great season.
Thank you

Couple things I thought stood out on the positive side.
1) When Bauer was taken out, he and Martin shared a big bear hug. They got over any anger issues over the mishandling of his senior year apparantely.
2) Marist played hard, which is a sign they still listen to the coach IMO. Fairfield is a great defensive team, and Marist has only one real good ballhandler in Price. But, Marist also played some nice hard D. Fairfield had a bunch of turnovers, which is not how they typically are. Have to give Marist some of that credit.
ONE NOTICEABLE thing I hated to see during the game other than the outcome.
Martin visably smirking in a "oh well, what ya gonna do" type of look when the teams kept turning it over during one ridiculous stretch. Totally unprofessional.
