It appears likely that Martin is going to be given another year. Can the Marist administration show they care even just a bit about the players and the fans and make this coach publically apologize, or admit he made an error in judgement. DO SOMETHING to show you want the fans continued support. This crap can't continue. Results on the court and now just non sensical thinking. A few weeks ago I wrote that someone should make sure Martin didn't ruin Bauers senior night. Lucky for Martin, Kemp couldn't play. McDerby might not have been on the court over the years for Martin, but he, I would think, busted his butt helping in practice and seems to be a player who supports the players during timeouts constantly. To not reward him for even a minute or 2 is honestly disgusting.

It appears likely that Martin is going to be given another year. Yankee, what makes you think so? BTW, I have never seen the PJ rip anything Marist much less a coach. Unprecedented.

ctfoxfan: That's what we are hearing, Chuck will be back for year four. Thats a short sighted decision by the Murray's. Hes not turning this bunch around anytime soon. Hes going to win 8 games next year. Then what?

I just think if he was going to be let go, their would be some signs. Also, with his contract being so long, don't see them letting him go unless SOMETHING EMBARRASSING beyond belief happens. Need a player to completely disregard his orders or an assistant to publically blast him. Something along those lines. That isn't happening. It is going to be up to the fans to make a statement and Marist fans are not the type to make that statement unfortunately. I will be at the game Friday night. If anyone is up for a chant during the game, I am all in. Something creative, not too nasty.

Hes going to win 8 games next year. Then what? His contract is for two years after this one, so Marist is unlikely willing to pay him for two years to do nothing. If next year is not a tremendous improvement I doubt he survives to coach year five. Tremendous improvement means .500 or better. The athletic department is thinking this is actually his second full year (recruiting cycle included) and are willing to see if he can actually turn this thing around. They know going thru any coaching change again will set this program back a couple more years. And even though many fail to recognize it, there has been improvement over the past month or so.
