Was Murray noticing any of this? If the fan base is that up in arms, will he make a change? They defininitely can't afford another year of bad morale. If I was Martin, I probably wouldn't want to be there.

I too was surprised McDerby didn’t start and thought CM could have started him and given him at least a minute, but that’s a coaches decision, he made it, what are you going to do? He probably wanted to do whatever he could to avoid getting off to a bad start, as all season, the beginning of the games have dictated the way the games were going to go. Unfortunately, they got off to a bad start anyway. I did not hear any booing or heckling from my seat either, except for a loud, somewhat sarcastic or derisive cheer when McDerby finally got up off the bench.
On another note, I watched the press conference and although I did not expect KB to say anything negative about the coach or his tenure at Marist, when asked what he would remember about his 4 years at Marist, he also didn’t have to say that he would remember the closeness of the team and the staff and everybody is still positive in the locker room and remained together throughout the tough last two years. I would love to ask him if he was just saying what he thought he was supposed to say or if he was sincere. That would tell us all a lot.
Finally, nomar, yes I am happy. Just happy to be alive and able to breathe the same air as the great nomar. I’m also happy because I believe it is possible that the miserable seasons this team was bound to endure after the Brady departure are almost over.

Well until next year when we are in 8th, 9th, or 10th place again

When are you going to at least consider that the current coach should be held accountable for the lack of progress in the program? Brady walked out the door in March 2008. Chuck took control one month later. It's now 3 years, a roster full of his recruits and transfers and 15 wins later. The only lasting connections to Brady were Bauer and Goodwin. Are you saying that they were the problem with this team? If not, then please tell me what is magically going to change next year.

Oldfox, I’ve spelled them out several times, but I’ll go through it one more time if you insist. I am assuming a healthy Kemp is available all year and that Prescott and Carter continue to develop as solid players. With Morton and another year of experience for Price at PG, we could be set there and I think Bowie is the type to work really hard on his game in the off-season and will improve from his already decent game. The bench has Manny Thomas, Alexis, Watson, Rusin, Prinsloo and maybe RJ will decide he wants to play some more and whoever they get to fill the Rob Johnson scholly will help. They need to win some early games, build a little confidence, get a little swagger, overcome the negativity of the fan-base and they’ll be fine, especially with the other MAAC teams losing a lot of good seniors next year. If you thought this was a down year for the conference, look at all of the teams losing a lot of their core players to graduation. This is also assuming that there is not a mass-exodus of players, as jgood is stating is going to happen. That will make it an interesting off-season, at least.

The premise of your statement was the Brady was to blame. This doesn't address how Brady is to blame after Chuck has had total control for 3 years. By this time in his tenure McCaffery had Siena in the Championship game. If these players are as talented as you say, why can't they compete more than 10% of the time?

My premise was that the way that the program was left by Brady, there was going to be at least 3 years of pain before things could get better. Those 3 years are now almost over. I see some possibilities for next year. Whether or not they happen remains to be seen, but I will remain hopeful thru the off-season and am looking forward to seeing what happens next year. Some of you guys may not see any possibilities for next year. That's what makes this interesting. But you leave yourself with nothing to look forward to. That is why I am happy and nomar is not.

Ball hogs! There were many times when Menelik and Bauer were wide open in the paint posting up and were never passed the ball. I have made this observation for some time. Glad to see Watson is in better shape. Hopefully next season he steps up with Kemp. Prinsloo is probably history. I hope we can recruit another good big. I think it is obvious that better coaching won this game. . . . . We need a whole new offensive look.

I was talking about Tim. I'm assuming he'd have input. Oldfox, Fran was left some good players and Siena puts most of their emphasis on men's basketball. That's all their fan base cares about. I'll say nothing more because I get yelled at when I say that I wish Marist would put more emphasis on the program.. :-) It's hard to outrecruit schools that put the majority of their emphasis on one sport. Just happens to be the one that most sports fans relate to at this level...
