That's what I meant to say about the other sports. I love them all but men's hoop is what people follow. To get the top MAAC recruits, they need to pour money into hoop. They poured money into the football stadium before basketball? I wish it were enough to just say to recruits that Marist is a great academic school, etc. Siena shows them the media coverage and the TUC. Marist loses that battle. I think the reason why it's easier to pull it off on the women's side is that girls tend to make their decisions for reasons other than basketball. They're not concerned as much about the limelight and big arenas. It's refreshing but it doesn't seem to work on the other side. Just food for thought when wondering why the coach doesn't always get the top recruits. Hopefully, the McCann improvements help. I'm with Yankee. The small new arena might have been the way to go. Looking back at it, Magarity couldn't have been that bad. He never had anything close to the talent that Siena had. Same with Brady really. We see non-stop Siena on the news. So spend the cash or we'll be the Pirates in the men's game.

And ggaff I absolutely agree that they need to pay better and build an arena (If they raised the roof with this set of renovations it would in it self make a world of difference). But i also do not think we have the right coach, just dint. Until i see ANYTHING that makes me believe he can coach... I want someone else

They poured money into the football stadium before basketball? As bad as McCann is the football bleachers were much worse. They were actually unsafe. Additionally, the field is used by soccer and lacrosse (men and women's teams).

I'm on the fence about the coach. Next year will be make or break. They'll have enough experience to compete night in, night out. I'm hoping that Prescott takes charge for the rest of the year and Alexis builds off of that game. I agree with Yankee?. Dorvell would or should be a perfect "swing" guy on a good team. I would say sixth or seventh man. He's great at the mid range game and he rebounds. He takes too many threes. On a better team, he'd take less shots and have a higher efficiency. Hopefully, that will come next year. Rusin is probably the only recruit that I don't see much from. I may be wrong, but I think some of the coach's "curious" moves may be for the big picture. At least I'm hoping that. I've watched the press conferences. I don't think he's totally clueless. Hopefully, they can build off of the Iona game and Sam reels of more big games. He'd be our guy next year. Morton is a confident kid who sees the floor. I think his penetration will lead to easy buckets. I do see him being a valuable contributor immediately. I do think he's that good. He's a point guard. Devin is forced into the role by necessity. Just keep adding more pieces, preferably a Glover type. I guess Marist was interested in him but he couldn't meet their standards. He met Iona's though.. :-) He's a great player.

Nomar,
Did they ever talk about raising the roof. You are 100% right. The way they do things these days, it would look like a new arena. I guess Murray is excited about the new look. We'll see. The court itself is as nice as any in the MAAC.
