I hope we can try to keep this thread strictly on the positive aspects of what is happening with the program. And any disagreements hopefully can be discussed/debated with a reasonable amount of self control:). I will start with 2. I know their are others, but I would like to give others a chance to list some they are noticing.
1) Kemp is much better than I thought. Based on his high school numbers and rankings coming in I saw him strictly as a space eater/rebounder. He is already becoming a defensive force in the middle, and is developing a nice game from 5 feet and in.
2) Prescott's development as a go to guy. He wasn't even a starter in high school until his senior year. This shows Martin and the staff might have a good eye for finding some hidden talent.
Others?

As of late they were more competitive at home. I'm thinking of Siena and Loyola. Looking forward to the next step against Manhattan.

Just a few I have noticed along the way:
1) Watson has seemed to have more fire the last couple of games. Maybe if he had made some of his free throws the other night, we would've seen it. I like him attacking the basket as opposed to that little turnaround fade-away that he loved at the beginning of the season.
2) Price has taken over a good amount of leadership since Hall got suspended. I think he realizes that he is not only playing to win some games this season, but that he is playing for a significant spot on next year's team. How many minutes is Morton gonna take away from him? It remains to be seen, but I think Devin should absolutely get time over R.J. last season. A couple of bad TO's the other night, but none during the Loyola game makes me think he is our guy at the point until someone can prove him otherwise (Not R.J., but is Morton comes in and makes the impact some of us are expecting here next season).
3) Solid games against some solid to better than average MAAC teams, Loyola, Siena, and Rider (on the road). Although the final margin was 14 at Rider, they played well and most of that margin was some made free throws on the part of Rider. What I loved best was the competitive fire out of guys like Prescott (God, I hope he can play tomorrow) when they hit big shots to keep us in the Siena game.
Just a few I've noted as of late. There are some more that I can't think of right now, but these are some I've noticed over the last bunch of games despite some absolutely terrible performances in those ones as well.

I see some competitive fire in Bowie, playing hard at the end of all games, no matter the score.

I agree with Yankee, redfoxes4life and dewd. There certainly are a lot of good things about this group of young men.
I'd like to add that Watson seems to have put in the work to lose weight and get in shape. I believe both Kemp and Prescott will be all MAAC before they are done. Bowie also has similar potential once he learns to take the ball to the basket. You all know I've been a fan of Price since I first saw him play.
For the most part the Positives have been about the individual players Nothing about the "TEAM" or coaching staff. Curious?

If he can round out his offensive game by learning to get to he basket on the drive consistently, he will be a dangerous player in the MAAC.

I agree. Bowie also has the heart of a winner. When he does make mistakes, you can see it hurts him. He is a key part of any possible turnaround. Looks like another sleeper type Martin was able to find. They do have some talent.

Play of Devin Price at PG these past few games since Hall has been suspended is what many of us thought he was capable of. He can be a nice 20-25 minute combo guard on a winning team.

I agree Price has played really nicely, especially picking up the slack from Hall's absence. Carter's hustle at times has also caught my eye

Since in my view, the record this year is irrelevant, there were some positives to take from today's game. The one that really stuck out to me today was the "easy" 2-point buckets they were able to generate off the half-court offense. Carter had several knock down 10-12 footers in the lane and he nailed them and Watson and Kemp were set up for some easy looks down low.

But to stay on the theme of the topic, Carter has been playing great. Why didn't he get time until he had too? Watson is finally getting into shape (he really let Martin down) and is starting to show his capabilities. Bowies attitude is something I love about this team. Every bad moment kills him. He wants to win so bad. He is the future leader of this team along with a couple others hopefully.

Since in my view, the record this year is irrelevant.... I wish you were my boss at work. They did a lot of nice things today. Carter has impressed me by making the most of his playing time. Too bad they couldn't execute when it mattered the most.

I think this year is about team growth; starting to put the pieces together to make a good multi-year run at the title. If all goes as planned, the positive flashes even Nomar sees will start becoming the rule instead of the exception. A couple of new pieces get added next year, they get off to a good conference start and the record starts becoming relevant. I think they are destined for the PIG this year no matter what happened today, which may not be a bad thing, as it could be an opportunity to play a close tournament game and even get a win (or two?) under their belts in tournament play, so next year, a tournament win will not seem like such a tough task.
