Great Article on Price in the P Journal: www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/article/20110127/SPORTS04/101270336/Men-s-basketball--Price-relishes-chance-to-shine-for-MaristIt's no secret I'm a big D Price fan. I was at the UC Irvine game last year and the kid put on a show. All I know is this...at times he takes long 3's...but for two years...he has always worked his butt off for Marist. Last year down the stretch, and even in the MAAC Tourney Devin Price was always playing hard, and...had it not been for a slow start, he would have led the team in points, assists, and steals. His family and friends are at the opposite side of the country, yet even when he wasnt getting minutes he was still working hard. Imagine being homesick AND not playing?!! But the kid never quit on Marist. I'm not going to weigh in on the Chuck must stay vs. Go argument. I will say this though...when Marist has needed Devin Price...he's always stepped up...it will be REAL interesting to see if Devin stays next year. These last games are going to provide a great audition for a kid who "might" be interested in transferring.

Many were calling for him to get time early on, almost begging for it. But again, he had to wait for a teammate to screw up in school. Hopefully, the coach shows some support to Devin Price. I am not sure he is THE answer as a pure point, but he is talented enough to be a solid contributer as a combo guard.

I have liked DP since I saw him dunk at last years red & white. This kid has a tremendous up side. I was calling for him to start from the beginning of this season. I still believe he did something to piss off CM; hence the confinement to the dog house. I truly hope he sticks around. He speaks well and represents Marist very well. Besides he's a good basketball player.
If RJ is around next year he'll be a senior and may get treated like Korey this year and find a seat next to the water boys. Then it'll be price and Morton. I HOPE.

We all hope that Morton is that ellusive pure point guard, but he too will be work in progress. The scouting reports love his offense and creativity, but it matters little if you don't work just as hard on the defensive end, which is the rap. I agree with Yankee regarding where Devin is best suited, but he is also the best point guard on the team if stats mean anything.
Price is basically coping to whatever the problem was- and doint it publically in that article. He sounds bright and focused going forward. Give him the team no matter what happens with Hall's suspension for the rest of the year. RJ has let the team down twice in 3 years. Sorry but from my perspective he has proven to be a bad roster risk in a situation that begs for certainty and stability. End this silly drama. RJ has earned a himself a spot behind Price, Morton, Sam and Rusin.
