I hope they show up for this one as opposed to the last outing. Of course this is a real tough game. Rider averages 74.4 ppg, shoots 49% from the field and 43% from 3. They have three guys who can put up points and some athletic forwards who can score in the paint and grab rebounds. This team as well as Iona I think are the worst matchups for Marist of any of the MAAC teams.
Go Marist!

I think these are FAIR things to see from this game.
1) Hall have a positive A/TO ratio. Robinson is not a good defending PG. 2) Hold Rider to under 45 percent shooting percentage from the field. Rider is more athletic, but defense is about effort. 3) Shoot 75 percent or better from free throw line 4) Stay within 6-8 points first half. 5) Lose by less than 16 points. 6) Get Alexis 18-20 minutes. Him losing minutes lately is a BAD sign in my opinion of the talent evaluation. He has tons of ability. He needs the time on the court to reach his potential.
My overall feeling is Marist is in this game first half, maybe even has the lead at halftime and then Rider pulls away in second half and wins by 12 points. Rider has already lost 3 home games (Iona, Fairfield, Siena). This should not be an IMPOSSIBLE type situation. Losing by 20 or more again is unacceptable.

Kemp with 7 boards and Prescott continuing to show he is coming around to be reliable first option on this team. Price must be playing decently. Alexis needs more time. Who is backup point guard in this game?

was really hoping for a little more coming out of the half time break - Rider starts half on 11-1 run - not a heck of a half time speach - and NO, if they dont pick up the pace here in second half I will not be happy with 1 good half of basketball

Shocker of the century in that second half start. Reliable source reports Hall and Goodwin are academically ineligible. WONDERFUL.

No, just a reliable source who I trust. Who is gonna backup Price now, Prescott for the minutes he can't play if this is true?

source said they weren't playing for academics. Not sure if ineligible or just being sat down because of it. We shall see I guess.

They said on the radio that Goodwin is out for the semester due to academics and no set time was said for RJ's suspension but it did not sound like it was for the semester. Goodwin probably gave up on his studies when his playing time was cut. Hopefully RJ will come back soon. He has not really played as well since the Niagara game. I wonder if that had something to do with last semester ending.

If that report turns out to be true then Martin is done - his tenure will not only record the worst won-loss record in the history of the program, but he will also now have the most academically ineligible players ever. For Hall not to be eligible for the second time is a joke - I said it before that the academics are the responsibility of the kids ultimately but for Martin not to have a closer look at Hall's progress during the year is just silly.
I know that when soccer players had academic issues Doc Goldman would get progress reports from the teachers and make sure that the grades were brought up to snuff.
There is no way you renew his scholarship if he isn't serious about the academic portion - this team has become an embarrassment in more ways then one - and if Morton want to go somewhere else that takes basketball and academics more seriously I wish him the best.

And if the COACH knows Hall is going to be suspended, wy not give Price more time earlier. Now its like starting over.
