I was looking at the MAAC only stats today and thought I'd post the Marist ones since we are almost 1/3 through the MAAC schedule.
I understand our schedule has been a bit heavy on the weaker side and plenty of the tougher MAAC teams remain...but still I was surprised at some of the numbers.
Marist is... 6th in scoring offense (66.0) 5th in scoring defense (67.4) 5th in scoring margin (-1.4) 1st in FT% (72.2) 4th in FG% (43.8) 2nd in FG% defense (38.8) 2nd in 3PT% (40.7) 1st in 3PT% defense (27.2) 6th in rebounding margin (-0.6) 1st in defensive rebounds (26.2) 10th in offensive rebounds (7.8) 10th in blocked shots (2.0) 10th in assists (9.2) 10th in steals (5.8) 10th in turnover margin (-4.00)
There's actually alot positive there. The two numbers that stand out negatively are offensive rebounding and TO margin. Marist is last by alot in these two categories.
I think as Kemp develops and if Bauer can take ALL of Prinsloo's 15 minutes Marist can improve those offensive rebounding numbers.
Valuing the ball I hope is CM's first focus in practice from now on. The FF debacle was pretty much solely caused due to a lack of holding onto the ball. I will be looking for improvement here the rest of the way as well as our ability to stay around our current rank in all of the other categories as the competition gets a little tougher.

Also Prescott is 6th in the MAAC in scoring at 14.6 ppg in MAAC only games. Hall (11.2) and Rusin (10.4) also average double figures in MAAC games.

Looking at some individual numbers for Marist players vs. the MAAC through 7 games (40% of season)...
PPG: Prescott (14.0), Hall (10.1), Rusin (8.3), Bowie (6.7), Kemp (6.5), Carter (5.9), Price (4.4), Watson (4.2), Alexis (2.5), Bauer (1.5), Prinlsoo (1.4), Goodwin (0.7)
RPG: Kemp (6.5), Bowie (5.1), Prescott (3.3), Alexis (3.2), Watson (2.7), Carter (2.7)
APG: Hall (2.8), Price (2.2)
FG% (10 or more attempts): Rusin (61%), Watson (47%), Bowie (44%), Carter (43%), Prescott (41%), Kemp (40%), Price (35%), Hall (33%), Alexis (27%)
FT% (10 or more attempts): Rusin (100%), Alexis (90%), Bowie (86%), Carter (80%), Hall (73%), Prescott (68%), Kemp (65%), Price (46%), Watson (44%)
3PT%(10 or more attempts): Rusin (56%), Bowie (39%), Prescott (37%), Hall (27%), Carter (25%)
Prescott really seems to be coming into his own as a go to scorer. Hope he sustains or improves on these numbers as the season goes on.
I was very surprised at Rusin's efficiency numbers..the "shooting slump" obviously has not effected his accuracy in MAAC games...his minutes have been limited but if I'm the coach I need to try and play him a bit more at three 3 along side Prescott. When's he's been on the floor long enough to get into the offense he's shot 19-31 from the field, 11-11 from the line and 9-16 from 3 in MAAC games.

RF5: Thanks for the data summary.
As I've stated before, rebounding and assist-to-turnover ratio need to improve in order for the Foxes to compete and start to win games. This is simply BB fundamentals. I think they can and will improve rebounding numbers as a team, with Watson IMO the key. He has the body and the teacher - Ty Weeks - who was a top-flight rebounder at UMASS as a player (when UMASS was very good).
I'm far less confident on their ability as a team to improve a/t ratio (to 1:1) because, as a team, they do not handle the ball very well. One way to improve is for Kemp to dribble less on the low post (he had 6 turns against Iona). He needs to learn better low post positioning to limit the number of dribbles he needs to get himself into scoring position. The more he dribbles the greater the chance for a turn. He should watch tapes of Tim Duncan in the low post - very little dribbiling, turn and facing the basket, using the glass, very few turnovers.

I give tons of props to Price. I was not sold on his PG abilities but in the time he's gotten the opportunity to run the point his numbers are very good. His A/T ratio ranks higher than Brian Rudolph, Justin Robninson, Rakeem Brookins, Gaby Belardo, Nick Leon, Derek Needham and Anthony Nelson. Only two players in league play have averaged more assists with a better ratio: Jonathan Thompson and Scott Machado.

Sad thing is red fox, many of us were perplexed why Price wasn't getting a good run? Some serious issues with talent evaluation. Carter didn't get a shot until the Watson suspension thing and now Price is only getting minutes because of the Hall situation. Something is wrong there.
