I agree with Red Fox 5, great observations, good points. Yankee & Nomar you are both on target.
I would like to add my observations and some things I've heard.
These young men gave up last night. They gave up on their coach. The lack of heart is a reflection of the coach. How many times can you be YELLED at before you shut it off. I remember being young and when I got yelled at I just went deaf. These kids have done that. Maybe Johnson and Price deserve some credit for being the first ones to realize what CM is about. I've said in the past and it's is repeated above, that CM is not a very good teacher. He's not a very good teacher who yells to get his point across. And at one point last night I saw him tell the 5 players on the floor to calm down. Hypocrite! I heard from a very reliable source that CM drops F-bombs into just about every rant during practice. He is constantly yelling at the team in practice. There are others using the gym while the men's team is practicing and at times CM's yelling has caused all action/practice in the gym to stop. I watched Tim Murray very intently watching the game with great interest. I am very aware that CM is under contract for a few more years and Marist is unlikely to make a change at this time(if we follow past practice). But Chuck Martin has lost this team. They are turning him off. I am certain the administration is aware of this. They are a lot closer to the situation than we are. I predict CM will not be the coach of the Marist Red Foxes next year unless many things change. As has been stated here before, they need to avoid the PIG (it appears impossible at this time). They must win at home against Manhattan & Loyola. They must be competitive at home against the rest of the MAAC. By that I mean they must not have periods like in most games this year and last where they completely shut down. Last night the score was 23-21 a couple minutes before half time. With ten minutes to go in the game Marist had 29 points. 8 points in over 10 minutes.!!! AWFUL. The players are totally confused, frustrated and brow beaten.
Bye Chuck!

Alarming to hear about the way the practices are going, but it totally makes sense after seeing what happens during the games.

I will flip a shit if korey doesnt get an opportunity to play against rossitter...they have a natural rivalry that I want to see. I want to see bauer angry! Someone should alert chuck that something is wrong and losing by 15 isnt an improvement He played Rossiter to about a standstill at McCann last year. I hope the team likes Korey enough to protest the way he is being treated this year. Unless their is some injury they aren't disclosing, Martin is ruining this kids senior year. He needs to go. Marist, if you don't want to eat the contract, assign him to some other position. Make him an assistant AD in charge of something, anything. Just get him away from this team.

You are right Yankee. He did play him even. He needs to play against Siena. This situation sucks if what Ken said is true. I'd make the change. Get a good young coach who can recruit. I think their talent is better than what their record shows. They shouldn't score less than 50 with this talent. Can the dribble drive. Get the ball to guys where they can score. I do feel bad for CM. He seemed like a good guy. Bottom line is wins though. They should never be a laughing stock. Just make sure Morton still comes. The kid will be a star.

2009-10: King Rice is in his fourth season at Vanderbilt. The former point guard at North Carolina and assistant coach at Oregon, Illinois State and Providence, was named to the Vanderbilt staff in June 2006.
Rice, 40, served as an assistant to Stallings for five seasons at Illinois State from 1994-98, helping the Redbirds advance to postseason play four times, including two appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Rice helped spearhead recruiting efforts and was noted for his solid relationships with players.
Prior to his stint in Normal, Ill., Rice began his coaching career as an assistant on Jerry Green's Oregon staff during the 1993 campaign. Following his five seasons with Stallings at Illinois State, Rice was an assistant for two years (1999-2000) at Providence under current head coach Tim Welsh.
As a point guard at North Carolina from 1988-91, Rice played under legendary coach Dean Smith helping the Tar Heels to a 29-6 overall mark and appearance at the NCAA Final Four in 1991. He finished his career ranked third on the Tar Heels all-time assist list with 629. His assist numbers rank 11th all-time in the Atlantic Coast Conference, averaging 6.2 assists in 140 career games. Rice was voted most outstanding senior by his teammates in 1991 after receiving recognition as the squad's top defensive player during his junior season.
A native of Binghamton, N.Y., Rice earned his bachelor's degree in communications from North Carolina in 1992.
Rice served as head coach of the Bahamian National team for three seasons from 2002-2004.
He said he'd take the job

Nomar, I like that resume. Hopefully he could keep Morton. But this is now about the entire program. I notice a trend where Martins supporters are saying he needs to stay because of Morton coming in. UM no. Hopefully Morton is coming here because of the potential he sees in the program and the academic program Marist has. The college can't keep a coach who is a failure for one player.

If Morton is coming in here for the potential of the program, a large portion of that is the groundwork that Martin has set here. Wouldn't it be?

If Morton is coming in here for the potential of the program, a large portion of that is the groundwork that Martin has set here. Wouldn't it be? We all want Morton to come here. Martins supporters should not start using this kid as a way to keep Martin here. I can see that trend happening. Marist has a lot going for it and the right hire will go a long way to keeping him. He signed a LOI because he wants to come here. He didn't have to.

Yeah. You make a lot of sense there yankee. I'm not gonna use Morton as an excuse to keep CM here. If that's the deciding factor than yeah, we probably should can him.
But that's not what I'm saying. I'm talking about your comment about the potential of the program. You did say that hopefully Morton chose to come her as a result of the potential of the program. Well, according to a few of you, this team doesn't have any potential. So that comment about potential just confused me a bit.

Potential in location to NYC. Potential in a rising academic stature. Potential in a nice campus, etc. Trust me, potential was not meant for the current state of the team in my thoughts:).
