God I forgot how late Weimar entered At this point I guess Quinnipiac has to be the preseason favorite? Preseason polls in this new era mean absolutely nothing Really thought Marist might have gotten the nod until Allen left. Agreed on the preseason polls. No way to project how teams will come together in a league like the MAAC whose team rosters get pillaged annually in the new era.

Oldfox I'm with you 100%. I legit thought we were going to be a 23-25 win team next year.

Great article. We had a very successful coach who used to say that they recruit the person as much as the player

Player contracts with buyouts. There needs to be some compensation for the school that had the player poached. If Team A plucks an enrolled student athlete off Team B’s roster Team B gets paid the equivalent of the an athletic scholarship at Team B’s school. I would go as far as saying if the student is a sophomore you are on the hook for 2 years, a Junior it’s 3 years. People who didn’t like the “year in residence” rule always pointed to coaches freedom of movement but those contracts have buyouts. So if the situations were equivalent then, they should be equivalent now. Schools invest time and money in these players academic and athletic development only to see those benefits accrue to another institutions outcomes. Becker is absolutely right. The current situation is chaos.

HC to assistant? How is that a good career path?
Is the money significantly better?

So Dinkins leaves Canisius after the coach is canned. Lands at MSM and now the coach leaves. I hope Dinkins didn’t leave CC because he didn’t want to play for a coach he didn’t know.

From the year ending June 2022 Form 990, he made $190k.
I'm guessing he wants to roll the dice and try to get a better coaching gig next. 1 winning season in 6 years, and not going to get easier for MSM in the MAAC when they won't be able to keep talent. Might be on the hot seat in a year or two.
Do a few years at Syracuse and maybe find a way into an upper tier job in the America East/NEC or back in the MAAC on a 4 or 5 year contract.

HC to assistant? How is that a good career path? Is the money significantly better? I think a lot of people are thinking that is an odd move . If he got fired Like Chuck did and he went to being an assistant at a high profile team u wouldn't question it . I don't think it's a money thing as much as an exposure thing ..and maybe he saw the writing on the wall with his team he would have had at MSM next year .and i believe a portal player from MSM has interest in Syracuse.

Savion Lewis pulls out of the portal, will return to Quinnipiac. They're the favorite on paper at least.

Gadsden not Dinkins FYI and he decommitted from the Mount today. Guess he wasn't impressed with the published research of the professors in his chosen major. That must have been it. Lol.
