Compared to the last 15 year this was a great year. But in today’s NCAA it was a decent year.
In the past we’d look at this team and say hey we get these freshman for 3 more years and there is going to be a Championship with them.
Today we got to wonder if we will take 2 steps back after taking 3 steps forward. I am hoping the staff keeps this group together but if we lose Collins, Pascarelli, or even Allen we are starting over. As a Mid having real success with roster turnover every year is going to be next to impossible.
This team is primed - it needs the Freshman to become Sophomores and add 1-2 more pieces.
I said it earlier this team could beat anyone on schedule and at same time lose to anyone on schedule
I got yelled at for bitching about SOS but is was that bad - to be practically dead last in the entire country is embarrassing - not getting to 20 wins with schedule and this talent is a miss.
We are at a point where even CBI would be attractive for post season but we did not put ourselves even close to a position to be considered.
If staff holds this team together then this year will turn into a great year they lose people and then this year was a missed opportunity.

Thank you to coach Dunne and players for a good year. Now the next step is to have a very good to great year The progress is evident, now let's build on it. As another poster wrote recently, thank you Cooley for being such a loyal asset to the program. Cooley will be missed.

I don't mind the SOS, I think Q's was pretty weak too — they just took better care of business in the MAAC.
I see a team like Rider going 15-17 with a very tough non conference schedule, or Marist at 18-13. I know there's a middle ground between playing UMES or the University of Maryland, but I'm glad recruits and more casual fans can see "progress" on paper.
If the core of the team stays together then definitely hope there's some more challenging teams next year...maybe some A10 or CAA matchups instead of the America East

Next year I hope we toughen it up a bit , forget wins and losses , the goal in mind is to be ready for the tourney . It doesn't hurt to get your ass kicked to bring u back to understanding what u need to work on . in terms of players , I hope we bring Allen back first and foremost .and love Price as well .

Improving SOS would be great. Hopefully the teams we want will give return games. Probably not as easy as we seem to think. I don't think Dunne can just call Butler, JMU, George Mason, temple, and say, *hey, we will play you at your place if you play at our place". Not that simplistic. Also, are we really insinuating a game against let's say st. Johns, creighton, or richmond in beginning of season would have helped us in the maac tourney?; after playing all those conference games, a non conference game in November would have been the difference?

not insinuating that Yankee ,but i do think most coaches will tell you that they like the competition and always the chance of a close or upset of a game ,, like we had had one year with West Virginia i believe ,,it's also good for recruiting to say hey yes we are going to Kentucky this year or a big name school ..not like hey we're going to New Hampshire this year. I didn't like the soft SOS this year ,it gave a false sense of what we were i believe .and it benefits Dunne no doubt with the W's and the L's . It became apparent the last couple of years that we were actively looking for a soft SOS . and my vote goes to playing at Syracuse . i've been waiting years for that , most other d 1 programs based in NY have played there .the reciprocal playing here doesn't need to work ,,west virginia ,kentucky didn't come here ,,it would be nice if they did ,but not going to happen . i remember years looking at Iona's record after their out of conference schedule and seeing that they would have not a great record , but it didn't end up that way after the MAAC competition.

So, we are ok with only playing good teams on road? And if any recruit picks to go to a school for 4 years of their life because the coach told them, "hey, we are traveling to Kentucky", that is probably not a kid with great decision making skills. I get wanting to see better opponents, but we are naive thinking it is easy to do so. You want 8 road games, just 2 or 3 at McCann? How do you fill the schedule if you don't get return games?

For one , all of the out of conference tournaments in early season are not return games , don't know why we didn't have one this year .and i'm sure there are always lots of teams looking for teams to fill their schedules if we need some home court games .and if a kid sees that a team is going to the Bahamas ,Hawaii ,Dublin or the mecca Kentucky ,whats wrong with that as an incentive to lure a kid ,rather than we are going to New Hampshire (not that i have anything against New Hampshire )..Obviously these aren't primary reasons for picking a school but also pertain to the point of SOS etc..

Definitely a positive season with how many new pieces were added. Picked 8, finished third. Team grew up throughout the year. Hopefully we keep these kids together.
Just annoying with how open the MAAC was and how close they were to getting that title

Assuming the Army, UMBC, New Hampshire, Dartmouth and UMES require return games that leaves four open spots for new opponents. All of the return games except UMES would be at McCann. There is a window in the schedule for some “up” opponents even if they have to be on the road without a return game. Fingers crossed.

With the conference expanding to 13 teams next season, doesn't that gives us 24 conference games, leaving us with only 6 non-conference games?

During the MAAC Tournament the commissioner was quoted as saying the league (presidents) were leaning towards keeping a 20 game schedule by utilizing an unbalanced schedule.

The UMES game this year was the return game from 22-23, so I think that agreement is done with.
