Hate to be right, but the signs were there all season.
Keep this core group together and next year could be the year.
Ah well. At least we are not a laughing stock anymore.

Staff needs to keep core together otherwise just starting over
As far as post season - this is where worst SOS and not getting to 20 wins kills them

I'll have to rewatch the end of the game , but did Dunne pull the trigger too easy on his last time out ? looked like Allen had the ball down low . Easy to second guess now

An All-MAAC level replacement for Cooley's spot out of the portal (easy, right?), and a shooter from the portal/JUCO/HS that can stay healthy with Sulack's scholarship would be great if that's all they need to sign All-MAAC this year: 9 players that transferred in at some point (6 from other D1 programs / 3 former JUCO 6 players recruited from HS on original team

I think top bigs last year were Gardner, then Josh Roberts from St. Johns and Stormo from Pepperdine.
This year Frank Mitchell and Otieno were former JUCO players. Ingraham was from Wake Forest.

Don’t discount the impact of the COVID year of eligibility. Players like Fields, Yetna, Lablanc and Lewis all got to return. How do you think our young guys would have fared last night if Fields and Yetna are earning a living and not playing college basketball? I think the COVID year was a bigger distortion than the portal overall and limited opportunities for kids coming out of high school more than the portal did. It’s gone after next season. That’s a good thing IMO.

Although the thought of Byrd and Collins being the ball handlers last night, and Wright swapping roster spots with Farris (who was transferred in when he left)...Pascarelli being 6MOY? Just another "what if?"

You can certainly see the potential with this group for next year. If we keep them together and add a couple more pieces next year could be special. Well done on the much better season then years past! Now let's go and make the next one the best one!

I personally can't complain. From where this team was for a decade to now. I don't think we're going to have many transfers out. I think this team gels. Dunne is doing it and next year is THE year. Not a single doubt in my mind.

Not a single doubt in my mind. Heck. Don’t have to go back a decade. Just go back to last season. 6-14 in conference last season with a guy who is playing in the Nets farm system to 12-8 this year starting 2 freshman, 2 sophomores, and a grad student. Keep them together, add a scoring wing, get Schofield in the mix and let’s go.
