Apparently the last thing you want to do is recruit the MAAC ROY - The worst part is that Khallid is the perfect example of why those guys staying doesn't make sense for them. Sure, you could be a cornerstone of a great team in a meh conference for 3-4 years. Or you could ball for 5 years in a row and still never get noticed because the team around is so bad and the MAAC is such a blender of a conference

As best I can tell from being a regular reader of the Siena Board two of the three players who received NIL funds have transferred either at the end of the school year or the year after. Emina Semilovic transferred to Fairfield and now Eley hits the portal. Siena can achieve the trifecta of futility depending on what Durugordon decides. This has got to be a real wake-up call to people who have donated to a collective and, why guardrails need to be constructed across college athletics if NIL is going to be pay-for-play, rather than what it was supposed to be.

"5 years in a row and still never get noticed"
Never get noticed for what? NBA? Come on maybe 30 kids in all college basketball are going to play in NBA - Khallid played overseas. Hopefully he loved his time at Marist, hopefully he has tons of memories and lifelong friends from it, and has successful career after basketball

Siena's an absolute mess. Can't see players wanting to stay there under Carm, but Siena won't fire him.

Siena's an absolute mess. Can't see players wanting to stay there under Carm, but Siena won't fire him. Agreed. I grew up in Siena’s back yard and this past season was historically bad. Carm’s a Siena alum and I believe his record to start the year was like 20 games over .500 . It’s not easy to jettison someone with deep ties to the organizations. It’s not cheap either. Siena board indicates the college would be on the hook for two years salary @ $400K ish each. Of course you need to conduct (pay for) a national search for a new coach and pay him too. Not sure the Siena administration thinks it’s currently a great use of the fund balance despite knowing just how important Siena’s MBB tradition is to the alumni and the fan base.

Well I made it through nearly a whole half of the Saint Peter's game but Tennessee is determined not to be Kentucky or Purdue. This one is OVAH.

The days of Khallid Hart are over, he told me " I never even thought about leaving " he's now head coach at his alma mater Sanford in Delaware, coaching his brother. I played BB in the 60's, getting a free education while playing basketball was a dream, no one left before graduation, our focus was getting ready for the real world, that's archaic thinking these days.

Yale has benefited from awful clutch FTs from their opponent in the ivy championship and now the first round I watched highlight videos of St. Peter’s games against UK, Murray State and Purdue to help get psyched for the tourney. While the Peacocks generally outplayed and out-poised those teams in the final minutes of those game, other than Ndefo who shot about 55% from the line, they never missed a foul shot. It’s free points and they took them.
