Coach Willis has already offered 8 players in the past 3 days. See below for some info on each. All of these guys are high academic and many played on both sides of the ball which is usually an indication of players who truly love football. Maybe those “fox hole” guys coach Willis described.
I’m hoping our staff really taps into the transfer portal to find some high academic FBS talent that are looking for a new situation.
JJ Wahab- 6’2” 235lbs LB. Berkshire School (MA). Played 6 games had 7 forced fumbles, 3 TFL
Donovan Wood- 6’1” 205lbs WR. Grad transfer from Middlebury College with 1 year left of eligibility. Two years ago had 938 receiving yards and 11 TDs, last year had 718 receiving yards and 6 TDs
Jake O’Donoghue- 6’4” 260lbs OT/DE. St Mark’s (DE). 1st team all state offensive lineman and 2nd team all state defensive lineman
Robbie Wollan- 6’4” 270lbs. OT/DE. St. Thomas Academy (MN). 0 sacks allowed on 201 pass attempts. 1 TFL allowed in 495 rushing attempts

So here is a video off of O’Dowd’s X account showing him in scout team action (I assume). O’Dowd LSU “Hit Tape” Football guys can tell us what they see. Regardless. Not many people can say they were backup to a Heisman Trophy Winner, Jayden Daniels. Also according to his account the defenders in this video include: - Derek Stingley (Texans) - Elias Ricks (Eagles) - Cordale Flott (Giants) - Damone Clark (Cowboys) - BJ Ojulari (Cardinals) - Micah Baskerville (Bears) - Jay Ward (Vikings) - Jacquelin Roy (Vikings) Interesting fact. O’Dowd was QB at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Plantation, FL. 2 star recruit.

Have we ever had a water boy transfer in from an SEC school... much less a walk-on QB Looks like great news, but let's remember marist mens basketball got a recent walk on transfer from the SEC, and that hasn't worked out. Let's see it on the field first. But everything about this coach and staff, looks extremely promising.

Basketball and SEC football can't be compared Agreed. The point is a walk on is a walk on. Hopefully he turns out great Positive is that he was a big part of Scott team practicing ces, so he has been facing top athletes in practice simulations.
