The future is so bright I got to wear shades.
Or is it Back to the future?
History repeating itself?
Or maybe when we have Duck Dodgers as HC in the 24th and a half century?

Marist led 65-60 with 4:26. From then on Marist was 0-4 from the field and committed 6 turnovers. Half of the 12 turnovers they committed for the game.
Gardner got his points but was awful (2/9) from 3 in this one. Brickner should simply not shoot a three.

At a time when they could have taken control of the game, it went exactly the opposite, and I think that’s on the coach. The offensive game plan is no good. I don’t know if the plan is to burn the clock, but whatever it is, costs them games. From 65-60 to when I turned it off, Q outscored them 11-1.

Similar to Makers teams.
Close game then they would get crushed in the last few minutes almost all the time

If Fordham can be this good, we don’t have an excuse not to be either. What is it they’re doing now that we’re not capable of doing?

Selling the idea of playing in the A10 and a degree from Fordham

I think Makers teams put up more points. I saw a 91-78 loss that fits the description.

Maker is an assistant at St. Thomas - who has only been a D1 program for 2 years and already they are well ahead of Marist.

Last year, they finally got decent talent, and they all bailed. That tells you about coaching, when legitimate players leave. When Dunne has been coach, the offense passes it around the perimeter and then rushes a shot before the buzzer. No one wants to play that way. Sure, defense is important, but not that you don’t need points.
My son is at Richmond. The A-10 offers more, a better conference with the same or better academics. Richmond recruits talented, but undersized point guards with talent, Gilyard, now Nelson. Marist has no idea what they’re recruiting. Some of these guys have ability. Dunne deserves credit for that. But he’s not developing them, putting together a team, or coaching them to win, so he has to go.

A good coach will NOT come to Marist. Marist is where careers die, not where careers are made.
There is no successful way forward with TM anymore. He and Marist are toxic.
Get a new AD and let them make the next HC hire.
I can’t stress that enough.
TM is a deadweight around the neck of the program.
He needs to go

I apologize in advance if I ramble. I'm still trying to comprehend the fact that in the span of five days, I watched this team jump out to a double digit lead in the first half three times, only to lose. In two of those games, the first half lead was at least 14 and they lost by at least 15. In one of those games, they held the opponent to only 1 point through the first 7 minutes. Yet in the end, it was 3 more losses. Today is groundhog day and I guess that it's appropriate because its groundhog day every day here: Every game, they lose, then everyone calls for a new coach, new AD, new arena, new conference, etc and that'll solve all the problems. Maybe it will I don't know but I do know that there's no optimism in the future. Short term or long term. It's sad to me to watch games and see empty stands. I remember wondering during one of the recent games if they had gone back to the cardboard cutouts because there was no crowd noise. none. It was almost as if the little crowd that was there was just waiting for the inevitable. Maybe I'm bias because I went to Marist in the successful days of Rik Smits and Drafton Davis, and watched the days of Jared Jordan and Will Whittington. Sadly I feel that success and excitement will never return. For several years, I could at least drown out the disaster by focusing on the success of the women but I can't really do that any more either. Maybe that's what makes this year even more frustrating. I wish I had the answer. I don't know. I do think there are a couple of nice pieces on this team but nice pieces are nothing without the complete team effort. Again, I apologize for rambling but I had to get it out

"span of five days" damn been watching this 30 years - we must have been at Marist same time. I lived with Ted Sharpenter - when we skipped school to drive down to Maimi and watch Marist beat Miami - Drafton wanted a ride because he was afraid of flying. The stands were always packed, it was just pregame to whatever was going to happen later that night.
That is what I don't get - what doing the students really have to do between 7pm -9 pm ? Do parties or bars get going earlier?

Sadly i don't feel this is just a Marist problem..i think at the end of the season ..all teams hold their breath of what players may transfer ..i've been hearing about the buzz for players that might leave Syracuse and other big programs after the season ..its just the way things are now ..so hopefully we can get some good freshman recruits and get a Gardner or 2 a year ..its just the way it is now ..
